“Westin standards but great value for money”

My husband booked us at the Westin for a surprise night away in Richmond. It is located 10-15 miles outside of Richmond in an office park but this really didn't matter as it was so easy to drive in to the city. They offer great rates and of course as it's a Westin the hotel is lovely. We had dinner in the restaurant and had great steaks and the waiter was fantastic giving us a better bottle of wine and some free chocolate covered strawberries. This is a great option if you are looking for a little luxury at a great price.

BEAUTIFUL lobby, fresh fruit infused water in lobby, beautiful lobby bathroom....starbucks in lobby...room looks like every other hotel room ...clean.... Nice soft plush bed, cute head board, nice tv, 1 robe, bathroom is beautiful.... Shower is heaven...soap and shampoos and stuff are pretty, LITTLE POOL AND SMALL HOT TUB....Best part? Dennys is right across the street!

I like this hotel but management needs to earn my repeat business. I wanted to rate my stay 5 stars but could not in good conscious. Front Dest is great. Internal control related to access to upper floors is great! I felt safe. The restaurant is great and the waiters earn their tip with great service. The restaurant greeter/seater is great. Room service is great. Movie selections are great. Baggage Help needs an additional person, but that's not a deal breaker. Parking is great. Location is great. Facility looks great inside and out. Now let's get to Housekeeping.

Housekeeping was very disappointing. Our room had a musty smell and my wife had to request additional linen; however, the additional linen was delivered promptly. If a room is properly cleaned and deodorized, there should NEVER be a musty smell. My pillows smelled musty and should not have. How does a pillow case smell musty if they've been cleaned. Perhaps there's a reason, but I can't think of any. Is it my responsibility to pack Lysol, Febreeze, etc. when I stay at a hotel with the Restin brand name? My answer is NO! When a room that's supposed to be clean smells musty, I question the quality of the cleaning. When I lay my head on a pillow to start my night's sleep, I expect a fresh smell not musty. It had the smell of a cheap motel. Perhaps better internal controls need to be applied to Housekeeping to ensure quality performance. The only reason I'm rating my stay 3 stars is because of the musty smell. That is well within the control of hotel management. I understand the need to cut a few corners in this economy to keep expenses within budget. I personally would rather not be provided free apples in the lobby at the expense of a fresh smelling room. I know the Westin can do better than this and I'm confident that it will.

I stayed @ the Westin in Richmond for a fun weekend. The rooms were quiet, clean and spacious. The hotel is really nicely styled, very clean. It's tucked away in an office park, so I'm sure they have lots of business. Their rate was very fair. Lots of nice touches - apples in the lobby - fruit water too. And, most importantly comfy bed with great linens, pillows and fluffy blanket.

I stayed here over Memorial Day weekend as part of a volleyball tournament. Checkin was prompt, rooms are spotless, bathroom is huge and the beds are heavenly! Dual showerhead is a nice treat and the fruit flavored water in the lobby is scrumptious. On Saturday it was filled with strawberries and was extra tasty. I just happened to mention to an employee who was in the elevator with me on Sunday that it wasn't as flavorful this time and he immediately called someone to jazz it up a little. Business center has several computers for use and the lobby has free wireless. Just don't understand why the inexpensive hotels offer free internet in the rooms and upscale ones charge $10 a night?

FYI - it is a dog-friendly hotel and there were lots of four-legged friends of all sizes. All were very friendly, we only heard one barking in the early evening, but if you are allergic you might want to ask if there are rooms designated for allergy sufferers. I would also suggest they implement the policy that is in most hotels now, that if you leave your towel on the rack, it signals that you don't need fresh towels. The sign on the shower mentions that they would like to be resourceful by saving water, but washing fewer towels would also help conserve our precious water supply.

All of the staff members were extremely helpful and went above and beyond.

I am glad to see that we excedded your expectations and we look forward to doing so again in the future. We do, by the way, participate in the linen conservation efforts. We generally just replace linen that is left on the bathroom floor, etc and only replace the bedding upon request and after every checkout. We have all this information in our guest information compendiums as we prefer not to clutter up the room with miscellaneous information. We stayed at The Westin Richmond in mid-May while in town for a wedding. There were also three other wedding parties in the hotel that weekend, so it was packed. Yet, the staff could not have been nicer or more accomodating. Room service was prompt and the food was really good. The front desk staff does everything it can do to make you feel welcomed and valued.

Room Tip: We had a corner room and it was very quiet.

I would never have known I was in a hotel restaurant when dining in Crossings. Amazing food and top notch service! Beautiful hotel and service by all hotel and restaurant staff was spot on.
