We got a discount coupon for one night stay at this hotel including dinner at the restaurant. I thought it was an excellent deal. The king room we had was spacious and clean. The bathroom's interior was a bit dated (glossy, marble tiles, gold hardware), but clean nonetheless. The dinner at the restaurant was delicious and service was good, too. The only thing I did not appreciate was the inadequate knowledge of the front desk person. Although friendly and eager to please, I was disappointed to discover that the restaurant across the street that she recommended for our lunch was not open until 5pm. Not good, especially because this was a restaurant just right across the street.
They have valet parking, except we had to wait awhile every time we needed the car. At one point, we waited for 15 minutes. The lobby is quite small, just two arm chairs, so guests end up congregating in the foyer while they waited for their cars, making it crowded for people going in and out of the hotel. I also like that they have free WiFi and the hotel is walking distance to restaurants. But being that the hotel was situated near the Capitol downtown, it was quite deserted on a weekend. We instead opted to go to Carytown, a shopping district a few miles away, which I would recommend. They don't have any national brand name stores, but independently owned boutiques and restaurants.
