For what it is - a historic boutique hotel - I give this 5 stars. It does not have some of the modern features that are standard at boring chain properties (business centre, workout room - or at least not that I saw), but it oozes character: the courtyard is a great place to sit and chat with companions and is evocative of New Orleans; the high ceilings, comfortable chairs, and parlor areas have a very southern, antebellum feel. There are fireplaces all around (mostly nonfunctional, but full of character nonetheless). The unique layout offers a lot of privacy. The rooms (and some bathrooms) are quite large and include a lot of storage (spacious closet and large armoire); the beds are comfortable, and everything is clean. There is wear - it's an old building, so there are obvious layers of paint and some moisture spots on the ceilings, but it is in a charming way, not a shabby way. Valet parking is reasonable ($12/day with in/out privileges) and a pretty standard breakfast is complimentary. There is a shuttle service that can take you almost anywhere you need to go. The hotel is also within walking distance to a lot of attractions as well. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The prices are reasonable - comparable or slightly less than others in the area, and for better accommodations than most, so I consider it a very good value.

A very welcoming and homey experience. Not the place I would pick for business travel, but a great place to spend time with family and friends and enjoy the property itself.

Thank you for your detailed review of the Linden Row Inn. We pride ourselves in offering our guests a unique and charming experience at a great value.

We appreciated some of your feedback on services offered at larger hotels. While we don't offer all of the amenities of a full-service hotel, our Front Desk is always happy to assist with business center services such as faxing, photocopies, and printing. And, although we do not have a workout facility on the property, we do offer our guests access to the state-of-the-art YMCA fitness center located one block away (larger and more comprehensive facility than what most large hotels offer on their premises).

We appreciate your review and look forward to welcoming you back during your next visit to Richmond!

The buildings and rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The staff was helpful, friendly, courteous and professional. The neighborhood is extremely convenient to dining, touring, shopping and business. The shuttle serves most of the areas that you want to do these activities in and there are also many things easily in walking distance. The breakfast choices are varied and great quality. This is our second visit and we have always been in the original row house. Both rooms were great. The suite is nice and large. This time we had a corner room on the 4th Floor, which I now prefer. The lobby and courtyard are relaxing and a nice private alternative for guests and their families or visitors.

Room Tip: Stay in the main row house in a corner room, bright, private and quiet.

This was our family's first visit to Linden Row Inn, and I think my son's words summed it up nicely. He called our room, 'our Richmond home.' The staff was superb, our room lovingly appointed--high ceilings, so much natural light and our own rocking chair on the porch with a view of the courtyard garden--and definitely family friendly. Close to attractions, great walking neighborhood. We are looking forward to our next stay in Mrs. Pegram's Parlor!

Thank you for your review. We are thrilled to hear that you and your family enjoyed your stay in Ms Pegram's Parlour (also known as Rm 220).

If you haven't already, we'd recommend picking up a copy of Two Brothers: One North, One South by David H. Jones. Aside from being a terrific work of historical fiction, there is an entire chapter of the book which describes one of Ms Pegram's famous Civil War-era parties in that parlour.

We look forward to welcoming you back to your Richmond home!

Wonderful building and super friendly staff. The rooms are really spacious and clean, and the extra services such as the complementary shuttle are well worth the price of admission. However, the whole neighborhood is indeed going through a gentrification phase, so it can be a little scary. The hotel itself is a joy, so if you're just going to and from the convention center or by taxi/shuttle, this place is a gem. The breakfast is awesome! :D

Interesting place but not in a good neighborhood. Valet parking never parked our car. We did not receive good advice re: nearby dining. The man at check-out was very unhelpful. This could be a showpiece.

Thank you for your review. We sincerely apologize for failing to meet expectations on aspects of your stay. Our entire team is dedicated to offering superb guest service, and we will certainly utilize your feedback as we continue to seek out opportunities to improve the guest experience.

Regarding our location, we are situated in the heart of Downtown Richmond (within a few blocks radius of the Convention Center, VCU and most of the hotels in Downtown). Our neighborhood is home to some of Richmond's most cherished historic landmarks (e.g., the Jefferson Hotel, Kent-Valentine House, Hippodrome, and Bolling-Haxall House), some of Richmond's most progressive art galleries (e.g., 1708 Gallery, Quirk Gallery), and some of the best restaurants in the region (e.g., Bistro 27, Lemaire, Pasture, and Tarrant's). So, we do hope that you will have a chance to explore the neighborhood in more detail during a future stay.

We look forward to hosting you again soon.
