“A little remote”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2014

A quaint Inn with a touch of history to it. The reception is a bit small but friendly enough. although you have to have the right staff on duty to get the right answers. rooms were clean and comfortable although the noise of the air con from the room below was disturbing. A downside was our friends had a settee and a fridge and it appears this was the only fridge on the premises. bearing in mind we paid the same price for both rooms, I have notified the hotel direct that either there should be a difference in price or each room should provide the same. Breakfast was good and nice to sit alfresco in the morning. Hotel provides a shuttle bus which they tell you on arrival and it is mot helpful unless the reception forget to tell the driver on pickup from downtown. A comfortable stay but not sure if I would stay again

Room Tip: Make sure you know what the room provides before booking

Thank you for your review. We appreciate the feedback on our historic property.

We do apologize for placing you in a room that was slightly different from that of your friends. We have a handful of rooms with refrigerators and/or microwave ovens (available upon request for an additional charge). It appears that we provided a complimentary upgrade to your friends to one of those rooms.

We appreciate the feedback and hope that we will get the opportunity to host you again.

I saw this hotel on line and read the reviews but they must have been talking about another hotel!!! This hotel has great promise if someone could do it completely over!!! The whole place needs painting and all the rugs need to go. The furniture is so worn out and dirty!! The hotel needs a good cleaning!!!!!!! I would not recommend this hotel and if I was staying more than one night I would have canceled. It is in a bad neighborhood. I did valet parking for safety reasons. The breakfast was good and the people were very nice. Tarrant's restaurant was the recommendation and it was very good!!!

Room Tip: Try another hotel.

If you are looking for History and ambiance and mood, the Linden Row Inn is perfect. We, only, stayed one night but know that we will be back. The staff is helpful and remains, almost, unseen allowing us to enjoy our stay. Our room overlooked the center garden. The breakfast hit the spot.

Stayed here for a night while attending a wedding. Definitely an "older" place with some wear and tear, but I had a great experience. Front desk attendant was awesome, gave us great intel on local places to eat (there are many). Our room was basic, high ceilings and an inoperable fireplace. Yeah, this is not holiday inn, but an historic space, so you'll need to realize that. We decided to sit outside while we waited on the complimentary shuttle and we bought a bottle of wine. The attendant put it on ice for us and we had a wonderful chill time. The shuttle got us to our destination and all was well. Great place to stay.

I only stayed one night at the Linden, but I found the inn to be a very pleasant place. Check-in was quick and efficient, and my room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the place was very quiet.

I mentioned in a survey that I filled out for the inn that the room could use a ceiling fan to move the air around a bit (I stayed in 323 and the window was sealed shut) and the manager said they'd consider that.

There was only one window in the room so it was a bit dark - but when I travel I spend very little time in hotel rooms so this didn't bother me.

The Linden is not a new property so there are signs of wear, I suppose - but that's what you get when staying in an older building. If that bothers you stay at a newer establishment.

Wi-fi worked just fine - always a plus.

I didn't avail myself of the breakfast so can't review it.

I read a few of the more negative reviews of the Linden and fail to see how the place can merit these - I would recommend staying here.

Two thumbs up in my book!

This property has a lot of great potential. Good price. Good location. Nice staff. Sadly, that's all cancelled out by the fact that it is seriously outdated, slightly dinged and dirty, and overall just not up to par. Could be fantastic with a renovation.

Our recent stay at the Linden Row Inn was a great experience. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The rooms were large and we were able to secure adjoining rooms for our extended family. The inn is a great place to base your stay in Richmond.
