We love, love, love this hotel. We go here as often as possible. Both for couple getaways and as a family. The loaction is wonderful and they have a free hotel shuttle which will take you anywhere you need to go. The front desk staff is great at recommendations. The bathrooms are redone and the rooms have a nice classical touch.

My husband and I came to this hotel first when we were just dating a couple years ago. We had a wonderful time there: a romantic room in a quaint old building and very friendly staff. On a recent trip to Richmond, we decided to stay there again, and I'm so glad we did. The price is really reasonable for what you get: spacious, clean rooms with a genuine historic look and feel. The staff is extremely courteous and everything was very nice. My only complaint would be that the breakfast was not particularly good, but other than that, I really love this hotel.

My husband and I stay at the Linden Row Inn whenever we travel to Richmond. The location is great, the rooms are clean and well decorated, the beds are comfortable and the ambiance is romantic. You can walk to many places of interest from this hotel and there is a shuttle bus available for free transportation as well. The staff is nice and the rooms are quiet and quaint. We have stayed both in the Garden Rooms as well as the Main House. The rooms in the Main House are larger than the Garden Rooms, but both are comfortable and quaint. Around the corner is a breakfast place called "Perly's". You MUST eat here. Overall, the Linden Row Inn is a wonderful place to stay, and you'll get the most bang for your buck here.

Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experiences at the Linden Row Inn.

We are delighted to read that you have enjoyed staying in both our Garden and Main House rooms. While each room type has its own personality, both room types do offer comfortable accommodations which blend traditional decor with modern amenities.

We are also pleased to hear that you enjoyed your meal at Perly’s. Perly’s is truly a Richmond institution and we always encourage our guests to try the Linden Row sandwich that has been on their menu for many years.

We appreciate your kind words about our property and look forward to continue hosting you during future visits to Richmond!

I picked the Linden Row from the web - caught a summer special, so the price was right. When we checked in, we were upgraded to a king room which was beautiful. The bathroom was bigger than my rooms at home! Everything was clean, the staff at the desk was SO helpful, the car service was a great addition. The only problem was the heat - and that was not the Linden Row's fault!
We're looking forward to a return visit to Richmond next year, and will definitely stay at the Linden Row again!

Thank you for your review of the Linden Row Inn. We take customer feedback extremely seriously and are very sorry to hear that our property did not meet your expectations.

Our hotel is situated in the heart of Downtown Richmond, a few blocks from the Convention Center and VCU. We are in the same neighborhood as most major Downtown hotels, and like most of our peers, we offer our guests a fee-based valet parking service from 7AM-11PM. Given the many limitations associated with being a Downtown property, it is difficult to provide complimentary 24-hour parking beyond the option of parking on the street. We apologize for any inconveniences these limited hours may have caused and do encourage our guests to take advantage of our complimentary shuttle service when going for an evening out on the town. In general, most of our guests will keep their cars valet parked for the weekend and utilize the shuttle service and taxis to get around town during the weekend.

Finally, we are sorry for the inconveniences you faced due to the heat wave (its been an unusually hot summer for us) coupled with a malfunctioning air conditioning unit in your room. As with any building, maintenance issues do sometimes arise outside of normal business hours. In such situations, we are always happy to move you to a new room. Since you did not wish to move rooms, the only alternative we could offer was to provide you with a fan.

We appreciate your detailed comments and have shared your feedback with our team in an effort to continuously improve our operations. Please feel free to contact our Management Office if you have further concerns. I hope you will choose the Linden Row Inn for your future trips to the Richmond area.

Traveled to Richmond for both business and pleasure and thought the chain hotel rates were a bit on the high side. Googled boutique hotel and up popped the Linden Row. I came to Trip Advisor to see what others said and thought I would give it a try. What a wonderful surprise!

The lobby is quaint and charming and the room was large and beautifully appointed. One of the best parts was the cleanliness of the entire facility, but more importantly the room. The dining room was lovely..wish I hadn't made breakfast plans.

I couldn't recommend The Linden Row Inn more..I'll be back!

Overall, our stay at the Linden Row Inn was fine. The Inn is a historic building and quite charming. The reception and common sitting area are nice, inviting. The staff was all friendly and helpful. Overall, the inn was pretty clean, but if one looks closely the details of cleanliness are a bit lacking. The location downtown is very convenient to the historic sites and the Inn will transport guests to these sites within a 2 mile radius. We didn't use the shuttle bus, however, so I cannot comment specifically. The courtyards are very nice and have tables/chairs for sitting out. Regrettably, it was raining so we were not able to take advantage of the courtyard. Our room was small ( we requested the cheaper room so this was expected) but adequate. The bathroom was modern with excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water.

A couple down sides to this Inn - the area in downtown Richmond did not seem too safe. I would be very hesitant to walk on the streets around this Inn after dark. When we returned to our room after a day of sightseeing we found the door to our room unlocked. It did not appear that anything was taken, but it was disturbing that our room door was open. The desk clerk seemed uninterested when I notified her and we never heard a word from the hotel management. The parking situation is also difficult. Although limited street parking is available it is time limited - 2 hours seemed to be the most common; not really practical for a hotel guest. Plan on paying the extra for the valet parking the hotel provides. Finally - the walls between our room and the next door room were very thin. We could actually hear and understand the conversation of the occupants of our neighboring room.

Thank you for taking the time to write a detailed review of your recent stay at the Linden Row Inn. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the charm of our property and regret that you were unable to take advantage of our Garden Courtyard due to the weather.

We are also sorry to hear that you did not feel safe in Downtown Richmond. Our property is located in the heart of Downtown, in the same area as the Convention Center, VCU, and most of the major hotels. While there is still some room for new development, our neighborhood has recently seen the opening of Richmond CenterStage, the Federal Courthouse, The National Theatre, and several restaurants (in addition to significant expansion of the VCU campus). All of these new venues are a few blocks away from the Linden Row Inn. We are looking forward to continued development in the area in the near future.

We also sincerely apologize for your room door being left open. Our Front Desk Associate was extremely concerned about the situation and did alert management immediately. A Manager attempted to contact you during your stay, but was not successful in reaching you. We did investigate this matter with our housekeeping dept and have taken the necessary steps to ensure that such an oversight does not occur again.

Regarding parking, while there is some limited street parking in the area, we (like all hotels in Downtown) encourage our guests to take advantage of our valet parking service for $12 per night.

Finally, we are sorry to hear that you felt that the walls were thin. As a historic property, each area of the hotel is unique. We strive to ensure that our guests are satisfied with the unique amenities and location of their specific room. On that note, we encourage all guests to contact our Front Desk if there is an issue with their room, or if they would like us to contact a noisy guest to keep their voices down.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are constantly working to improve the level of service we offer our guests, and feedback such as yours helps us understand gaps which need to be filled. I do hope that if/when your travels bring you to Richmond, you will allow us another opportunity to show you the level of service and accommodations that you would expect from the Linden Row Inn.
