I checked into the hotel at 2:45 am March 15th - my plane was late and i had to drive in from BWI. It took the front desk clerk close to 25 minutes to check us in, he couldnt find the reservation. he just kept looking at his screen and wouldnt say a word - even when i asked what was going on... simply kept looking at the screen and typing away.
Finally get into the room around 3:15 - fall asleep until 6:00 am which is when the elevators started running. The constant noise in the hotel room is out of control. The noise sounded like a power sander was sanding the floors right above the bed. it would last for maybe 20 seconds, stop for a few seconds and then go again, and again and again. This happened all weekend long and all hours of the night. I have stayed in hundreds if not a 1000 hotels and this is by far the worst experience ever. I understand hotels are noisy - but this was unacceptable. I challenge anyone to simply sit in room 201 especially between 6:30 and 9:00 am over the weekend and just listen to the unbearable noise from the elevator. you should NEVER put anyone in this room - ever. Friday i called the desk to let them know about the noise and they sadi they would send someone up. nobody showed. i called again - nobody showed. finally i went down to the desk and the clerk oofered to come to the room and listen. his words were wow, that is loud. he confimed it was the elevators and that this is the loudest room in the hotel..... Saturday morning we wake up to the same noise - - i asked to be moved and the clerk laughed and said yeah that is a noisy room - no chance of getting another room this weekend.... at 2:30 that afternoon the room hadn't been cleaned. i stopped by the front desk to let them know, they said they would get on it. 5:00 comes - nobody shows. i go back down to the desk on my way out to dinner - to ask again.... - come back from dinner - room still wasnt touched. I went back down a third time around 8:30 = nobody at the front desk - i waited 15 minutes - nobody there just a sign stating be back in 5 minutes. The rub is I paid 450+ dollars for an awful experience with no sleep and nobody seemes to care.... my daughter and i barely slept all weekend. i went to the desk on the way out and i wrote a note to managment explaining the situation - i handed it to the clerk and asked to have the manager call me - because she was out that morning. still waiting ... The hotel was in a great location. Only 5 minutes away from my final destination. My biggest complaint is the Breakfast/Breakfast area. The juice machine was broke. So they had bottles of 1 kind of juice. The coffee was weak/terrible but we you could by Starbucks from a machine there. The seating area and counters were always dirty. And the food trays and racks were not filled consistently causing patrons to wait for the slower than slow employee to restock.

During a snow storm power outage, we stayed at this hotel. Jaggi, the desk clerk, was very nice and helped us with a smile and was very professional. The room was immaculate and the bed was a delight? A full hot breakfast was included in the room rate and it was fabulous. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: The king bed rooms are HUGE. The queen rooms not so much.

Awesome review and know that we truly do appreciate the support and warm reviews. Snow storms in March? What is happening in Richmond? Our housekeeping works extremely hard to maintain such clean rooms, especially trying to keep the new feeling after only being 4 years old! We love the recommendations.
