“A taste of Italy”
Reviewed 14 December 2012

My honey and I happened to be out in what is locally known as The West End, on an errand. We asked about a place to stop for lunch and got directed to this small cafe nearby. What a delight! We had delicious vegetable soup and shared a pannini, made with deliciously melted mozzarella. Afterwards, a cup of excellent coffee. The piccolo was enough java to keep us going all day! The owner was very friendly, and Italian. He offers Italian classes! And on Saturday half price wine. Nice. The only thing that was difficult during this first visit was a small group of parents with very young children, all of whom were unhappy (read "crying".) When they left, we were happy! No fault of the owner, however, and we will return to enjoy this little taste of Italy.

“Closest panini to Italy to be found in Richmond VA”
Reviewed 2 October 2012

CHarming European cafe atmosphere! Topped off by a fabulous cappucino and the best panino I have had in Richmond! The pastries looked delicious as well! We had the #5 sandwich and it was great!

“No more Starbucks!”
Reviewed 8 March 2012

Why go to a chain for coffee with friends when you go can go to a cool and charming Italian cafe? The coffees are excellent with charming designs in the foam. The food served is fresh and homemade. I especially love the "special" eggs with prosciutto and the prosciutto and cheese grilled sandwich. They have soups, and pastries also. The atmosphere is warm, relaxed and a little quirky. They have wine and evening events on the weekends. Sometimes there are even people speaking Italian! I love this place and almost don't want to write a review because I don't want it to get too crowded. The owner is Italian, very friendly and works hard to be sure everything is perfect.
