My sister and I have stayed at this hotel two years in a row while in Richmond for the Maymont Flower Show. It is always clean. The price is hard to beat and the staff has never been anything other than professional and courteous.

My husband and I stayed in the hotel for one night November 23, 2005 - the day before Thanksgiving. We liked the room, clean and cosy, it had everything you may need on a trip: from the fridge and microwave to the guides to Richmond. The staff was friendly and attentive. There were lots of cafes and reastaurants near by. For us it was economy accomodation choice which appeared to have all the above economy features. We certainly are going to stay there again.

I negotiated a wonderful rate for a long-term stay ($45 a night) and was not disappointed. This is an old bank building converted into a hotel. The hotel is, therefore, relatively new. Walls are thick and rooms are quiet. Rooms vary in size, because the building was -not- constructed as a hotel. As one reviewer noted, the garage is a bit odd (very low ceilings), but who cares? It keeps your car out of the hot Richmond summers. I had a 2-room suite; 2 new televisions, a brand new Serta bed (one of the best beds I've ever had at a hotel), new furniture, and a very nice, modern, well-lit bathroom. Also had a microwave, refrigerator, and coffeemaker, all attended to and cleaned daily. Breakfast was more than adequate. The hotel is not a gorgeous piece of architecture, for sure...but for a great rate right downtown in a safe, substantial, relatively new building, you can't beat the Quality Inn.

I stayed here while sightseeing in the Richmond area, and I was really happy to find a respectable hotel at a reasonable price in the middle of town! I had a nice view of the city skyline from my well-appointed room, and the staff was very enthusiastic and helpful with directions and restaurant recommendations. It doesn't have a terrificially upscale feel, but it was quiet and convenient to everything in Richmond city.

The neighborhood is on the fringe of the financial district, so while not in the most vibrant part of town, it's a very quick jaunt to either the Fan or Shockoe Bottom, and it's convenient to both.

Overall, I had a really nice experience here, and I will definitely come again next time I'm in Richmond.

If you are at all familiar with South East DC you'll feel right at home at the Quality Inn and Suites on E. Cary Rd. in Richmond, VA.

We booked this trip sight unseen via the internet, realized we weren't in Kansas anymore as we approached the general area.

The parking garage features 6' ground clearance, which leads to aggravating antenna slapping

against low hanging water pipes with alarming frequency ... is my antenna still attached?

On the plus side, there are a great many closed circuit cameras strategically placed in the

garage that play on the lobby TV. Those serve as a wonderful distraction from the abundant

stains on the carpet.

The furniture in the rooms is old and needs to be replaced. The power went out after midnight.

Take a guess on whether or not the alarm clocks had battery backup. If you guessed no, you are

correct. The tv had cable ... the remote control was missing the battery cover.

In the interest of full disclosure, the rooms are large. The bed was comfortable. Overall the

room and bathroom were clean. Wet water (cold and hot) flowed from the faucets and shower head.

I would not stay at this hotel again.

ever.

Nice, large room at very reasonable price. Good continental breakfast. Fitness room isn't much, and some of the equipment wasn't working. Overall for the low price it was good value.

Very disappointed! Stayed at this hotel last year and wrote raving reviews about the service and staff! The management and staff have changed and are not customer friendly. They try to make the customer feel like it is the customer's fault for the management's inability to properly manage the hotel. Poor management and service!
