Probably the best state museum in the USA - a large collection of Faberge and wonderful Art Deco exhibits. The special exhibits are wonderfully arranged and run the gambit - from glass art to film costumes. Well worth the visit to Richmond, Va and while there, the Amuse restaurant and the Cafe are great places to eat.

What a wonderful museum. The Art Nouveau Exhibit was the main draw and our favorite. Beautifully curated. One is led from room to room chronologically from around 1900 to c.1939 so as to grasp the evolving forms through the Craftsman period and beyond. If this isn't of major interest, there are bounteous collections of African, American, European and Asian art and artifacts. A gorgeous gift shop. Free except for special exhibits (Hollywood costumes now, which we skipped) and with free covered parking. While we were unable to try the restaurant this time without a reservation, we were very happy with the quality of the food and the atmosphere of the cafe directly below. A museum worthy of many visits.

We had a wonderful time! Free admission to the general exhibits. Loved the wide variety of styles and types of arts, from the Hollywood Costumes special exhibit to the Egyptian mummy, and the Renoir collection.

This is a must see museum located conveniently off Interstate 95 with free onsite parking. Awesome collections from Ancient to Modern Day. Check out the special exhibition "Hollywood Costume" which is on exhibit until February 17, 2014... There is a fee for this extra exhibit, but well worth the money, as the museum is free!

The sights, the art, the architecture.. This is just awe inspiring! It's free and other exhibitions are not pricey. Just chilling on the cafe's deck is an experience.
