“Getting better all the time..?”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

I've lived in Richmond for years, but until a few years ago rarely went to Vmfa. It felt very static and staid. With the new director and renovations, the openness and quality and diversity of the exhibits has soared. Now I go at least once a month. Our city is changing for the better and with it, Vmfa.

If you have never been, try it.it is good for your soul.

“Beautiful and unique”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

It's a wonderful museum to visit with permanent exhibits and special exhibits. Currently they have the Hollywood exhibit and previously they have had the Chihuly exhibit, the art of India. One could easily spend a whole day there, but if you wished you could finish in half a day. The restaurant in the museum is a good place to grab a bite.

“A wonderful place to spend some leisure time”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

VMFA is always fabulous: the ongoing collection as well as the temporary exhibits! They wisely charge no admission to the general collection, making it an attractive day trip for families and encouraging the next generation.

“Museum of Fine Eggs”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

It might sound funny but the VMFA has a great collection of Fabrege. But it is more than that, between Muse Restaurant with a terrific selection of beer and artwork spanning the better part of 300 years the museum's architecture alone is worth seeing. Don't forget to go up the outdoor terrace over the parking deck for a quiet view of the museum and sculpture garden.

“This is your ART!”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

This new slogan for VMFA lives up to it's premiss. The museum is very friendly to all visitors and the employees are friendly and knowledgeable. It's so nice to meet up at the cafe for refreshments, look at the great view, then take in a bit of your art. It's a not to be missed location in Richmond, VA
