“Neat drive for a mile or two”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

Worth a quick drive down this avenue to see these large monuments. You may wish to stop and read the history and take a picture.

“Absolutely Stunning”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

The monuments and homes on this Avenue are truly outstanding. The whole avenue is worth a complete walk. We were overwhelmed with the beauty of this area.

“A beautiful drive”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

One of the most beautiful, historic, urban drives you could ever imagine. Monument Avenue is a gorgeous tree-lined drive past historic, stately homes, compounded by the imposing monuments to the idols of the old south.

“Lords of the Confederacy & historical mansions”
Reviewed 20 April 2014

Drive up Monument to see the monuments of the Confederate luminaries - Lee, Stuart, Jackson & Davis ( all facing South). The big attraction for me were the stately old mansions along the avenue - it is hard to believe how huge these homes are. It is a lovely drive along this wide avenue. A nice thing to add to your list of things to see in this city with so much history.

“Walk or drive a car to view!”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

The trolley is a good thing to do in Richmond but don't do it just to see monument avenue. You can't see the monuments from the trolley. By walking or driving a car you can see the hero's of the confederacy such as J.E.B. Stuart and General Robert E. Lee. At the end of the avenue is a monument that doesn't fit in with the civil war theme. It's a statue of tennis great Arthur Ashe. Arthur grew up in Richmond and after his successful career put money back into Richmond for educational programs. Their are several more monuments to be seen so check this famous street out.
