“Quick stop”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 May 2014

This is a nice short stop that is worth seeing just because of the famous speech given here by Patrick Henry. If you stop during open hours you can go in and sit where he did. We just walked the grounds and it took us about 20 minutes. there is a neat graveyard on site as well.

“Famous location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2014 via mobile

This is the location of Patrick Henry's most famous line, "give me liberty or give me death." also the trader Benedict Arnold quartered British troops here. I visit lots of old cemeteries and there's some very interesting structures in which folks are buried. They also have a little gift store. I didn't take the tour and the door to the church itself was locked.

“Meet Virginia History”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 April 2014

The church is small but very pretty and has been active since Richmond was young. Edgar Allan Poe's mother is buried there. The Virginia House of Burgesses met there after the Colonial Governor disbanded them. The best reason to visit is for the re-enactment of Patrick Henry's address to the Burgesses: his "Liberty or Death" speech. Be sure there is a performance scheduled when you plan to go, it is really well done.

“A national historic spot”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 March 2014

This is the site of Patrick Henry's famous "Give me liberty or give me death oration." Not only can you stand in the spot where history was made, you can see reenactments of the event.
