“Very Patriotic Experience”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

If you are in Richmond and the reenactment is going on, you must go. You could be sitting next to George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, or Patrick Henry. They are in costume and do a wonful job.

“If in Richmond a must see”
Reviewed 29 May 2014 via mobile

Here is where Patrick Henry give the speech "Give me Liberty or give me death", on some days, there are actors recreating the famous speech, a pretty church dating back to before the American Revolution.

“A quick but important stop”
Reviewed 25 May 2014

This is where Patrick Henry gave his famous "give me liberty or give me death" speech. Our tour guide was animated and told the story in such a way as you felt you were there. The visit only takes about 45 minutes and is worth the stop

“Gorgeous church”
Reviewed 22 May 2014

The interior of this church is fantastic. The stained glass windows, high ceiings and carved wood architecture remind me of the churches in Europe. It was built in a time when no expense was spared for the building of houses of worship.

“Peaceful and spiritual, beautiful and calming”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

This little historical site in the Churchill section of Richmond was the setting for my Easter visit this year. It was a memorable day; the pastor is warm and welcoming, her remarks from the pulpit were inspiring. The music set the tone, it was peaceful, calming and traditional. The setting of the pews with the old fashioned gates, the magnificent stained glass windows all around, and the spring flowers on the alter that were brought by parishioners completed the setting which was spiritual no matter what a person believes about the before-life, after-life, or anything in between.

We had two young children with us who were fairly good, but not perfectly behaved. Many others joined the congregation but of course, not all the children saw the need for quiet. The pastor made all feel welcome, including the families with youngsters, and the atmosphere among congregants was also warm and inviting despite these little disruptions. What a wonderful Easter service it was, and stepping out into the church yard with its benches, flowering trees, and spring green blades of grass just lifted the spirits even more.
