“Funky and Cool - Good food”
Reviewed 7 May 2014

We decided to try to find somewhere from Diners Drive-ins and Dives while passing through Richmond and discovered Dot's Back Inn. What an interesting find. A very small, and seemingly old establishment, the variety on the menu was enormous. Everything we tried was well prepared and the service was very friendly prompt. Food delivery is a bit slow, they tell you that, because they have a very small kitchen, but it was worth the wait. This is not a complaint, just be prepared and don't go if you are in a hurry. Instead, go when you have a bit so you can enjoy the place and people.

“great take out lunch”
Reviewed 14 April 2014

We got a take out lunch, even at 2 it was still a busy lunch crowd, but the waitress were busy keeping up. Got the black bean burger and cole slaw, and club sandwich with spicy potatoe salad. I have to say I have eaten allot of black beans burgers, but this was the best. The cost for two great lunches was only about $16.

“Fun place with nice folks”
Reviewed 20 January 2014 via mobile

This restaurant is amazing! The waitresses are very nice the menu gives you lots of options and the food is amazing! The restaurant is themed for the 1940's and has a unique look. The service was good and got to us pretty quickly. The menu offers many options and even the choice to personalize your meal! The room is full of fun pictures and decorations.

“The Dive you want to Dive back into again and again”
Reviewed 22 November 2013

This is the type of place the only the locals know about but we find it by way of TA and DDD and checked it out while in town for the Anthem Richmond Marathon (I finished by the way) and we were not disappointment. This small joint was crowded on a saturday night and its size does not provide much comfort while waiting but it was a nice night so outdoor was good. We waited about 40 mn for a table but once seated our waitress was fast and attentive and we got to know our neighbors who had also run the race but were locals and so were able to reccomend some great options for the specials menu. This place is clearly a converted house that was then expanded to serve more customers but it was warm and comfy. The specials were handwritten on a piece of paper and were varied - my pan seared tuna was to die for along with a sweet potato and lima beans - the side choices are country like fare and also include corn bread, collards and many others. My husband had a chicken stir fry dish with wontons and we both nibbled on tater tots (had not had them since jr high). Great dessert menu but I was stuffed - my hubby had ice cream and pie and loved it. Loved this place and the portions were large.
