The Grapevine is proudly owned & operated by the Trak family. We strive to keep the quality of food, atmosphere, & personal service impeccable standards! Dine-In; Carry Out; Private Banquet Facility offering options for Limited Menus, Buffet, or Family-Style Service; On and Off Site Catering; Concessional Services. History Established in 2001. The Grapevine tradition started with the beliefs and dreams of one man, Michael J. Trak. "Chef Mike" (as his friends and co-workers call him) came to America in 1971 with nothing more than a five-dollar bill, generations of family recipes in his pocket, and a passion for the kitchen. He cooked, baked and sauteed his way through restaurant kitchens, never missing a single day of work. On December 12, 2001, The Grapevine was opened in the Granville Square Shopping Center. The Grapevine quickly established a loyal clientele and was rated a prestigious "A" by the Richmond Times Dispatch. Michael, Mary, Mitchell, Marianne, Rita and Gabor make great efforts everyday to make their guests feel like they are family. They strive to keep the quality of food, atmosphere and service better than any chain restaurant. Chef Mike and Mary spend most of their time in the kitchen, but every now and then you will see them poke their heads out into the dining area and mingle with the guests.

We actually ate at the new location of the Grapevine which is at the Short Pump Town Center shopping area, next door to the Regal Cinemas. It's at 11636 West Broad Street.

We were just passing through on I-64 and needed some dinner. A girl working in a gift shop in Charlottesville told us to try the Short Pump area. We just picked the Grapevine out of the clear blue sky.

It's a quite small restaurant and it was very busy. The entire place is non-smoking which was wonderful. We sat at the bar which was newly remodeled and very, very clean. The service was excellent. Very quick and competent. Our drinks were never empty and we had extra napkins.

My husband ordered the moussaka and I had the spaghetti with meat sauce and we ordered a side of cheese garlic bread. None of the food was of the average quality that one gets used to expecting at places similar to this. My husband loved the moussaka. Both it and the garlic bread came with a marinara sauce that he is still raving about. Very tasty. My spaghetti and meat sauce was very good, definitely better than average. The garlic bread was great.

We finished up by sharing a piece of baklava. I don't usually like baklava. It never seems to taste as good as it looks. At Grapevine, they warmed it up and added a little honey. It was superb! Very, very tasty and worth eating. My husband and I agreed that we could have worked through another piece!

The Grapevine is a great choice if you're shopping in Short Pump or traveling on I-64. It has very easy on/off from the Interstate and is only a couple of miles from the exit. Plenty of parking.
