“fantastic place for a Sunday Brunch”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

great location in CaryTown, large open air restaurant (it was a delightful day, ),
seated quickly by a pleasant hostess, quick service from our waiter, and a very good menu with lots of Gluten Free options,
blackberry lemonade was awesome, as were the grits,

brunch menu is very good, we plan to return soon for dinner,

“so-so”

IMHO, this place is over rated. Fries were good. Wife's liked the dressing on her burrito bowl. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Too Cool To Be Good”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

Located in the "hip" area of Richmond, Carytown. Based on the crowd and the reviews, I expected so much more. However, our service was very poor, almost uninterested, as the focus really seemed to be on trying to be a "cool" place rather than focused on friendly / quality service and high quality food. Our waitress seemed uninterested as my first attempt to order a glass of wine was met with a back turned walk away mid-sentence as she chatted with another waitress. Upon return, there was no communication outside of "are you ready to order". I did finally get to order a glass of wine! Food was served and was a bit mundane and did not receive a follow-up to check on it until I finally managed to wave our waitress down. Was never offered a second a glass of wine and had check delivered without ever being asked if food was ok, did we care of anything, else, etc. Frankly, just not impressed with the service or food. Carytown has many restaurants. I hope they work harder at quality food service and product and less than being "cool" than The Daily did.

“Outstanding Food and Service”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

Our first time in Carytown and our daughter recommended this restaurant. It was crowded but we were able to get a table outside. They had a nice selection and prices were reasonable. I tried the veggie burrito bowl not really knowing what to expect. The presentation was gorgeous and the meal was delicious - there was this sauce that was spectacular and made the dish! I just might become a vegetarian...it was that good. The service was great and they kept our water glasses filed (it was a hot/humid) evening. I would highly recommend this restauarant if you can get a seat.

“The best place on Cary Street...”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

The Daily Kitchen has great clean modern decor, great service people and a wonderful menu of creative food. Their dishes are unusual and very flavorful and beautifully presented. Their vegan options are outstanding and go beyond ho hum vegetables and grains as one finds in other restaurants. The staff goes out of its way to make sure you are happy with your choices. We have eaten here about 20 times and never had a bad meal. Come, have a cocktail at the bar or on the patio and take in the Cary street scene. You'll be supporting the locals and you'll be glad you made the effort. Highly recommend!
