A good space to stop and consider. Unfamiliar to us, perhaps but the important sentiments expressed there on many levels are worthy of time. Well kept and elegant structure with good views.

This war memorial is a very small area between the street and boardwalk. The sculpture work is very good. The "remembrance" info about the statues makes you stop and think. The engraved pictures and words on other areas causes you to reflect on the sacrifices made for our safety. Definitely worth stopping by as you walk the streets of Virginia Beach.

This landmark is a beautiful way to honor our Fallen Heroes, the statue is a very moving piece of sculpture. You can feel the history there, as you gaze at the names of the soldiers from the Commonwealth of Virginia who gave the ultimate sacrifice. The view of the surrounding city is rather special as well & I know a lot of people have gotten really excellent photographs there. There is a museum there now where they hold events as well & it's very educational. They hold special ceremonies there on Memorial Day & Veterans Day, probably other days as well. There's plenty of parking, it's handicapped accessible, well lighted. I would recommend it to anyone who wishes to pay tribute or who just wants more knowledge.

We came to Richmond to do photography. This is a nice memorial, easy to get to, with good parking. We also walked out on the bridge to get pictures over the James River. Unfortunately the sunset was nothing special that day, but you can't blame the memorial for that!
