“Perfection exists!”
Reviewed 21 August 2013

Are you in need of privacy and relax, yet do not want to miss the opportunity of living for a short period in the heart and art of Tuscany? Rigone in Chianti won't disappoint you. Not only was the apartment (better say..house?) where we stayed (2 adults + 3 children) for one week spacious, comfortable, nicely decorated and refurbished, but also the location - within short distance from the most famous attractions in Tuscany such as Certaldo, Siena, S. Giminiano and Volterra - is strategic and, even so, far from crowded holiday resorts and structures. Nice and clean swimming pool, large olive tree fields or vineyards where to take long walks in the late afternoon, good wine and extra virgin olive oil produced on the spot .... but, what's more, the kindness of the owners who do love children and make every effort to cope with your needs. No problems to find supermarkets, shops and other services (I had to take the car to a mechanic unfortunately) in Montaione. I therefore kindly recommend it if you are planning a holiday in Tuscany!

It was a great pleasure to have you here . Thank you very much for those kind words . My son Nanni is only a few months older than your boy, so it was not difficult for me to imagine the needs you might have , and it was a pleasure to have satisfied them ! We are so happy that you were satisfied and that you have appreciated our agriturismo and our hospitality . Sightseeing in Tuscany.is a must , but I m sure that the children loved our pool more !

This was our second stay at Rigone and yet again we had fantastic time. The location provides you with the most wonderful views and is convenient for trips to all major towns (plus there is great ice cream to be had in Montaione). We took the train to Florence this time, which was very easy, too. Compared to last year, there were more mosquito nets (and less mosquitos), the sun loungers and garden furniture had been upgraded and pizza delivery had been added to the list of available services. Although there are 9 units, Rigone never feels crowded and offers plenty of peace and quiet. Nada and Luigi are always happy to help and we are already looking forward to our next stay!!

This wine grape and olive farm consist of a handful, traditional farm houses with well-equipped apartments. The farm has a heated horizon pool with a spectacular view and a separated pool for children. The owners are very helpful and service-minded. The property also accepted guests for less than a week at the time – which is not usual.

The apartements are not airconditioned, so while the downstairs kitchen and livingroom was nice and cool, the attic bedroom was really hot. Ask for a fan if staying during the summer. Also, bring moscito-spray - because thre

Montaione is a quiet, small Italian town. It is charming and has a handful of good restaurants. Within an hour or two we could reach Firenze, Pisa, Siena and many other nice places.

Room Tip: The apartments are not air-conditioned, so while the downstairs kitchen and living room was nice and...

The place is perfect for relaxation and exploring Tuscany.
Beautiful view and surrounding.
The villa is wonderful decorated, with beautiful gardens.
We had a great apartment with two separate rooms, two bathrooms, and very nice living area with kitchen. Every apartment has a little peace of the gorgeous garden for itself.
It is very quiet place.

The vine Chianti is perfect...

Thank you Nada and Luigi!

Apartments are very comfortable, well equipped and the design is perfectly matching the environment. It is very clean. The nature is wonderful! The complex is at about 10 minutes walk (1 km) from a small medieval village of Montaione from where you can see beautiful reliefs of Tuscany (One of the best views is from a small terrace in the village). The hosts are very kind and attentive, always eager to help and provide useful information about the local culture. We enjoyed tasting their wine from the fascinating vineyards. Montaione is in the heart of Tuscany, not far away from Florence, Siena and Pisa. We also visited San Gimignano, Volterra and Lucca. It is possible to go by train but if you want to see more places (and Tuscany) you should have a car. It is also great for those who don't want to visit other places because you can never get tired of watching and exploring amazing nature around you or just chilling by the pool. Spring is the perfect time for visiting, temperatures are great, nature is magnificent and it is really peaceful. We were really satisfied and we will definitely come back.

The villas are lovely - transporting you back in time. The apartments are very comfortable and appointed with full kitchens - with beautiful windows providing you great views. We went for Easter and had a wonderful time. It was still a bit chilly at that time of year -- the new heating systems - and old fashioned fireplace - was great! Definately worth a stay if you are in the Montaione area.

I stayed here with my wife and 18 month old son for a week in late September 2012 and had a fantastic time. The manager, Nada, who runs the place on behalf of her family, was excellent and made us feel very comfortable, from our arrival (we arrived at 9pm and she had lots of food, including a pasta bolognaise, waiting for us in the fridge) and for our son, for whom she had fitted stair gates and left baby bowls/cutlery as well as a high chair, cot, a baby changing mat and several toys. She was also on hand in the mornings to advise us on where to go locally to eat and the best routes to get to places. Highly recommended.
