“Best meal for a long while. Great presentation too and superb views if seated outside.”
Reviewed 29 August 2013 via mobile

Visited with or 3 children (10,8,6) and made to feel very welcome. Had no booking on an August Wednesday evening, couldn't get a table with a view, but pleasant vaulted room inside.

Mussels, clams, bruschetta, anchovies, pasta, prosciutto, pizza and swordfish, all beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Washed down with good, reasonably priced house red. Sadly discovered this place too late to return on THIS holiday. Recommend it though.

About €100 for a feast for 5, not bad.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed 4 August 2013

Good atmosphere and family friendly. A good and varied menu, my Husband loves the mussels. You can watch them cooking the pizzas fresh in their pizza oven. Highly recommended.

“Great food, iffy service”
Reviewed 2 August 2013

We ate here twice during our stay in Montaione. It was very busy on both occasions, and as a result, the level of service suffered – it was slow on both occasions, slow to take our order and slow to bring food, and they ran out of chilled bottles of water. However, the food was good – I really like very thin pizza bases and here they do it to perfection. I also ordered swordfish which was very good. It was worth a visit, but only if you are not in a hurry.

“Get there early!”
Reviewed 30 July 2013

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 6 and 3. On the first day we tried to get into this restaurant at around 8.30pm on a Sunday night and failed. Montaione is a very busy place around this time on a Sunday night. We went earlier the next day (6.15pm) and were seated straight away .The service was fantastic -our waitress, although very busy was extremely efficient and still did well to provide everything we needed. Our children shared a pizza which is the best I have ever tasted - thin and light with scrumptious fresh topping. We had the marinated anchovies, mixed bruschetta, grilled balsamic chicken and fruita de mare spaghetti, all of which were amazing. We had home made tiramisu and panacotta for our sweets which rounded off a superb meal in a lovely setting and relaxing atmosphere. We will visit again.

“Good meal surrounded by local contemporary art...”
Reviewed 4 January 2013

A good dinner had by myself and wife. €40 tab bought us: warm octopus salad (nice, well seasoned), pizza bread (gratis on house, fantastic crisp bread seasoned with evoo an oregano), bottle of local Montaione Chianti (not best, but good), entrees of clam and mussel gnocchi and salmon farafalle (both generous and well seasoned), finished with Choco panna cotta and espresso. A very good meal surrounded by fantastic local contemp paintings.
