“Peaceful with magnificent views and a great host”
Reviewed 14 February 2011

When you arrive at Casa Turrita the first thing you should notice is the magnificent view. The view of the Umbrian countryside from this place is breathtaking. The location is very peaceful.

The B&B has a lovely homely feel. The beds are so comfortable, and it was lovely to wake and open the shutters to see that view again.

Susan knows a lot about the local area and has some excellent suggestions for trips and restaurants. Although I speak a little Italian it was very nice to stay with someone who is American as it makes understanding the tourist options a lot simpler.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and will certainly return to Casa Turrita.

This is a quiet and rural B & B with an English speaking owner. Excellent breakfasts and comfortable in every way, our hostess was particularly helpful with maps and other information on places to visit and local restaurants. Casa Turrita is only 7 or 8 minutes from the beautiful Hill town of Monte Falco where there are many restaurants and cafes, and travel to centres like Perugia,Orvieto,Todi,Trevi Narni.Durrito and all the beautiful Hill towns of Umbria is easy. We stayed for two weeks and could not be better pleased with our stay. Highly recommended.

We stayed for one week at Susan's lovely casa in the Umbria region and despite not arranging for her to pick us up at the bus terminal she willingly did so and then invited us to her apartment for dinner that evening. It was a delightful stay and a great centre to explore further afield in places such as Spoletto and Assisi, but Montefalco itself is a gorgeous town and the surrounding countryside is full of vineyards and olive orchards and lovely homes. Susan is an extremely helpful person and she supplies plenty of guides and other resources to help maximise your stay. We had ther use of the self-catering apartment and prior to picking up a hire car, she also ran us uptown to the supermarket for some supplies althoug the 3 km walk was also used at times. Highly recommend this place for its tranquility and Susan's friendship and helpfulness, way above what you would normally expect. Ron Ford, New Zealand.

I had advised Susan, the owner of the beautiful Casa Turrita, that we would arrive at about 8pm. After one traffic problem after another and a few phone calls between myself and Susan, we arrived at midnight, full of apologies, but warmly welcomed by Susan, even at that hour of the night. Our rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable, and we opened the windows the next morning to stunning views of the Umbrian countryside. We shared some time chatting with Susan over a delicious breakfast outside on the terrace, surrounded by fully laden grape vines and olive trees, with the rustic stone house and vines as a backdrop. Case Turrita is the perfect B&B and is a great base for a superb 3km walk into Montefalco.

We had the most wonderful experience staying at Casa Turrita during our stay in Umbria (August, 2010). The accommodations and location were more beautiful and comfortable than we anticipated, and Susan was both a delight and a wealth of information. We first heard of Casa Turrita as we completed web searches for B&B’s in Italy as we planned our honeymoon. The website was beautiful, and we were a bit skeptical as the rates seemed low, but now that we’ve been there, we can assure others that what you see there is actually what you will find during a visit. Susan was always very timely and responsive to our emails as we explored reservations which made a great impression upon us. Upon arriving at Casa Turrita, we found the landscape and location to be breathtaking. The B&B is private, yet very close to the center of Montefalco – a small walled town that we immediately fell in love with, and would not have been surprised to have seen Gepetto turn a corner. Our room was extremely comfortable, clean, and well cared for. The bedding was beautiful, a small refrigerator was available to us, and Susan took care to place fresh roses from her garden in the room for us to enjoy as well. The breakfast experience was absolutely delightful. Each morning of our stay we walked downstairs, opened the door, and were greated by a beautiful setting breakfast waiting for us to eat on the outdoor patio. (On the one morning when weather was questionable, breakfast was set up inside.) There were choices of cereals, breads, juices, coffees, pastries, yogurt, fruit and more. And always an international newspaper (in English) for us to review. Susan made herself available at breakfast as well as during other times in the day to answer questions and provide us with insights. Our explorations and understandings were greatly enhanced by her input. We highly recommend this B&B for anyone visiting Umbria, and could not have enjoyed our stay more. In fact, of all the locations we stayed while traveling through Italy for 3 weeks, this was by far our favorite! Enjoy!!

Casa Turrita exceeded our expectations. After traveling for 10 days in Tuscany & Venice we thought Italy couldn't get any better, and then we stayed 6 days at Casa Turrita with Susan! Her hospitality was outstanding....wonderful breakfasts, great suggestions for off the beaten track places to visit, restaurants, vineyards, etc. The room was great.....plenty of fresh towels daily and a very comfortable bed. Susan provides the best of both worlds--she speaks both English, Italian and knows the region. Without reservation we recommend Casa Turrita for your visit to Umbria.

This very lovely B&B is a short drive out of Montefalco. Lovely room and bathroom with actual wash cloths available! My first in 2 1/2 weeks! Fresh roses in the room. Great shade tree out front under which we were able to sit and read. Wifi available. Susan gave us a wonderful recommendation for dinner in the country with the locals. Breakfast was bountiful and delicious. Even a copy of the daily International Herald Tribune was available for reading. Great hostess, great place to return to on our next trip to Umbria!
