This was one of my favorite places I saw in all of Umbria. The wine was excellent and so was the olive oil. The food was prepared fresh and just for us. I loved it, and I would classify myself as having little experience when it came to wines at all (whether it be considered good or considered bad, though all of his wines were good). The host Paolo Montioni was generous enough to show us both how his family makes their olive oil as well as their wines. Overall a great lunch and a great experience.

On our recent family reunion/vacation to Italy we visited the Montefalco wine area (based on a recommendation from a wine shop owner friend of mine in the States) and we toured the Montioni Mill and Winery. There were 18 of us ranging from 11 years old to 72 and all of us had a great time and learned quite a bit from Paolo. From the types of trees and vines, to the processes and ultimately the end product we were amazed and entertained by our host. This ended up being one of our more memorable side excursions and we came away feeling like we had new friends in Italy. Thanks to Paolo and his mother!

We were searching for an olive oil mill to visit and were lucky enough to find Montioni, in Montefalco. We're so glad we did! Paolo himself took the time to show us his family mill, and to explain the olive-oil-making process in detail with all of his charm and enthusiasm. Needless to say, after a wonderful tasting of his oil (and wines), we stocked up.

Montioni Oil & Wine is a must-see if you're in the Montefalco area!

My husband and I were staying in Umbria for a couple of nights and were interested in visiting some of the wineries near Montefalco. We went for a walk early Saturday morning and came across the Montioni Winery. Paolo's mom greeted us at 9AM and invited us in for a tasting, but we let her know we would come back a little later in the day. Around noon, we went back to the winery and were treated to a wonderful tasting by Paolo who was super friendly and took a lot of time to explain the wine and oil to us. We even had some wonderful bruschetta to accompany the oil. You must visit the winery, Paolo and his mom when you are in the region. The wine is very reasonably priced and we were able to get several bottles to take home with us. Highly recommend!!
