“Traditional Italian Hospitality”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2013

We have just spent a week in this lovely villa hotel full of atmosphere and very comfortable, excellent food and great atmosphere, we had 'a room with a view' and the staff including the owners treated us very well, nothing was too much trouble to accommodate our needs. The town of Montefalco is a short walk away and full of character typical of a hill town with excellent restuarents, the cuisine in this part of Italy is very meat focused, fish lovers are not catered for, a visit to Lake Trasemeno will satisfy that need. All in all a great location ideally placed to visit the local sites.

We are spending our second of two nights here right now. After three weeks in relatively boring hotels it is nice to find something so pleasant in the country. Some folks think the Villa needs an update, but I think the comfortable air is what makes it distinctive. If you want updated, find a new, characterless blah place in the valley. This place has character and a personality. My Dad stayed here a few years ago and liked it so much. It is like staying in a very nice home. There are books all over the place And comfy corners to hang out in, so you don't have to stay in your room the whole time.

After Rome, where we had ok food and generally rude service, this is a dream. The dinners here were excellent and reasonably priced given the quality and quantity. The gnocchi were happy little pillows of heaven and the egg with truffle was amazing and I had it both nights. Seriously, if you don't stay here, at least come for the food. The breakfast is a good heavy continental. Great breads and sweet things. They offered eggs by request, but no one was around to take my request. I lived.

We are in room 5 which is small, but well appointed and has a pretty view of the valley with Assisi in the distance. I would have liked a bigger room, but I did opt for the lowest price option. The toiletries are good, though I wish they offered body lotion (I am out).

I think the weakest part was the web site. It didn't come in English that I could find. But I eventually figured things out and even successfully made and adjusted my reservation via email.

This is my 5th hotel on this 1 month trip and really the best for food and character and staff. They are so nice and friendly and even if we don't always understand each other, they treat us so well. I wish it were warm like last week so I could use the pool, but I am glad they have one at least.

A beautiful villa which is higher priced than perhaps it should be as there are many things in need of an update. Many furnishings are older and musty and slip covered. Rooms are ok but not wow! Bathrooms are older w great water pressure and ac was on and off. Dinner was excellent however and very authentic for the region. The owners were very nice and seemed to care for our comfort.

Room Tip: Views are spectacular

We have just returned from one of our best holidays ever, staying a week at the Villa Pambuffetti. The villa is tucked away in its own park but only a few minutes walk into the fascinating old walled town of Montefalco. The owners and staff could not do enough for us, suggesting delightful places to visit that we would not normally have discovered. The panoramic view from our room was the best, looking straight across the valley to Assisi and the many other towns and villages, with a backdrop of the snow topped mountains. We ate out in the town some nights, a good choice of restaurants even early in the season, but our favourite meals were in the villa. Easter was still chilly but we enjoyed sitting around the log fire in the lounge with a drink. The whole ambience of the villa is of a tastefully furnished family home, which is what it was until converted into a hotel about 20 years ago by the family who still own it.

We fell in love with this place and Umbria and it won't be long until we return to Montefalco and the Villa Pambuffetti.

I am an independent travel planner, who specializes in small group tours. I have been organizing groups for numerous years. This was the first time I brought an entire group to the Hotel. We stayed for 8 nights. Once we left we wished we could have stayed longer. Although Montefalco is a very small village and traveling with an older group of travelers did not make for much hiking or exploring we found the accessibility to Spello, Gubbio, Assisi, Perugia easy by small coach. Alessandra and Mario are absolutely the most genuine and hospitable hotel owners. Dining each night on lovely prepared meals while allowing our group to lounge anywhere in the common areas made for an experience trip of a lifetime for my group. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the staff exceedingly professional and friendly. I hope to return again and again.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms are lovely, but of course the upstair rooms are best with lovely views. There are n...

We stayed at Villa Pambufetti for 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute. The hotel itself is beautiful and very comfortable. It is an excellent base for exploring the area.
We were fortunate to be given an upgrade to a lovely room - very spacious with fabulous views over the valley towards Assisi, furnished with antique furniture and with a lovely marble bathroom. It absolutely made the holiday.
We ate in the hotel restaurant several times and the food was excellent if a bit more expensive than other local restaurants.
The staff were pleasant and helpful.
It was lovely to be able to walk into Montefalco in the evenings for a drink or to eat. Yet to stay in peaceful surroundings.

Room Tip: Some rooms have fabulous panoramic views - we stayed in No. 7.

Just returned from a trip to Itlay that included 2 nights at the Villa Pambuffetti. It is an absolutely beautiful place and we would highly recommend it. The grounds are particularly beautiful and well maintained. It really is a 5 minute walk into Montefalco which is a lovely little town.

The food was very good and Mauro was so attentive and helpful! Overall, wonderful place with beautiful surroundings and views.

Room Tip: Note: There is no lift in this hotel. Our room was the very top room in the hotel with 59 stairs t...
