“Amazing "hotel"; look carefully at the address”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

The tents were amazing, nicely decorated and well equipped (facilities, furniture, heating). The grounds were absolutely beautiful and the breakfast was nice (what we found to be typical of hotels in Italy, mostly breads and sweets).

My only complaint was that the website has not been updated to their new address. The glamping moved about 5km away from its previous location on via canonici, but the website was never updated. To be fair, the owner indicated to me in more than one email, the new address, but as we were hastily preparing for the trip, we took the "how to get there" information from the website, not an earlier email.

We spent a short stay as a family at the end of August. It was prferct. It had everything we could ask for - beautiful accommodation, a place to unwind away from the hustle and bustle of a day in Venice, eating under the stars...but a short train ride into the wonders of this beautiful city.

One small word if advice....ask the hosts for advice on what to see in Venice. They will take you away from the beaten track. Thank you Alice xx

We were in a dream......the surrounding was perfect, the service was perfect, the lodge was more than we expected.

A perfect place to relax and visit Venice. a 10 minut walk to the train station from the lodge. Take the train there to venice and in 15 minutes you are in Venice.

We will be back for sure.

Myself and my husband go abroad for a couple of weeks at least every 6 months, every time I like to go somewhere unusual but still beautiful.
La Canonici is definitely in the unique and beautiful category. Every detail has been thought of in the tents, it was so relaxing. I could give a whole description of the place but La Canonici is a place that has to be experienced for yourself. If your travelling within the Venice area it is the perfect place to base yourself. The weather was great (1st week of July) and we where lucky enough to have rain one night. (Normally no one wants rain on a holiday, but when your tucked up in your very comfortable bed looking over the property to see and hear a storm it so beautiful).
The shower even though in a tent was fantastic, we were in a proper hotel before Mirano and the shower was terrible.
Alice, whom looked after us was great, if we needed anything she was there to help us.
I would recommend this place for anyone and everyone doesn't matter the reason for your travel. It is somewhere that you could definitely tick off your bucket list if you like doing out of the norm things. We will 100% be back or maybe visiting their new one in Bali.

We had a wonderful week. So lovely to wake up, look out from an amazingly comfortable round bed, through the tent to trees and fields. Our hostess, Emanuella, was happy to help with any requests and even arranged a delightful day for us with a driver to take us to the wineries around Treviso. We went to Venice on three days, by train - no hassles - and one day to Padua, also by train. Restaurants for delicious evening meals are walkable distances away, and at night we came home to candles on our tent deck for an evening nightcap. So different from hotels. So exotic! We would go again.

My daughter and I were travelling around Italy and decided to treat ourselves by staying here part way through our trip. We stayed in late June and unfortunately our visit was a bit of a comedy of errors. Emanuella was not there as they are currently setting up another venture in Bali. When we arrived there was a bit of a mix up so we were not met at the station. We found a friendly local who dropped us off at the site. When we were let in one of the girls in the house said that Alice had come to get us (as I said, a timing mix up) but then left us standing in the midday sun outside (it was stinking hot) until Alice returned from the station a little while later. Alice was very friendly and helpful about local eating/site-seeing in the general area and she suggested places we could ride to for dinners etc. The new bikes are great to ride on, but the old ones are a bit too old with wonky wheels and scary brakes.

The tents are decorated beautifully with quirky ornaments and paintings and the bathrooms are gorgeous, but it’s all now getting a bit tired. The decking outside had a big hole in it where the timbers were rotting (this had been covered by a roll of garden edging) and one of the tent flaps kept collapsing as the pins holding the ropes were falling out of the wood and the Velcro around the windows was starting to peel off. They had lovely French chairs inside but their back cushions were missing, so you couldn’t sit in them (we later figured out the backs were being used on the bed as cushions – but this wasn’t until the last day we were in the tent). The highway is quite close, so by about 5am in the morning the noise is quite intrusive, which is a shame.

It’s definitely too hot inside the tents during the day in summer, but it was lovely sitting on the shady side of the tent outside in the afternoon. You need to make sure you get your own water and juice daily though, because once your stock of water and juice runs out in the fridge it’s not replaced (I would have been happy to pay for replacements). The breakfasts are lovely and each day the plates are different and the entire table setting is very beautiful.

There was also a mix up with our dates (even though the actual number of days had been confirmed with Emanuella) so I had to go through all my old emails to prove we had booked for 4 nights not 3. As they had double booked us we were moved into the office which they converted into a bedroom on our last night which was not ideal and to be honest the entire experience ended up being quite disappointing based on all the other reviews.

My boyfriend bought me this as a surprise for my 21st birthday. We stayed for a week on the 11th June, not knowing what to expect when he told me we would be glamping in venice. Before we arrived we was sent all the necessary information to arrive by train and was picked up by the very pleasant Emanuela. Everybody there were more than welcoming, making us feel very relaxed and comfortable. Emanuela even took us to her bank so we could get the best exchange rate on our money, as no other banks would change it for us. (i would recommend that you change all your money before going). Alice greeted us every morning with breakfast, she helped us with directions and plan our days as we was clueless. On arrival to the lodge we was greeted with a nice bottle of champagne and a full mini fridge. The first night we didn't have any food so they ordered us two pizzas and delivered them to our tent which we amazing. The location was perfect and the nearest train station was only a short walk away and it only took 20 minutes to get to the centre of venice. If you wanted a day off from the hussle and bussle of Venice then the lodge was a perfect place to chill out and catch some rays on our private sun loungers. When we was there is was Emanuela's daughters 18th birthday and was honoured when they invited us to the garden party, we was welcomed by all the guests and again we was made to feel very welcome.

Our usual holidays would be to party destinations so to be surprised with a holiday like this i was dubious but i was proven wrong from the moment we was picked up by Emanuela. This was our first holiday as a couple and it was out of this world!! I would highly recommend this to anybody who is looking to visit venice, we will definitely be returning in the near future!

Thank you very much for such an amazing experience which will never be forgotten.
Sam and Jordon.

The lodges are in a meadow, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. n the charming rural scenery that surrounds it , the Glamping Canonici di San Marco is set in the context of a seventeenth-century structure where native trees and orchards will make you feel nestled in nature without giving up modern comforts. The Lodge will be your refuge after an intense day in Venice or in the nearby cities of Padua and Treviso, and it will be the ideal base for a cultural, social, eno-gastronomic or sporting stay, allowing you to rediscover the secret harmony that only contact with nature can generate! All rooms hint at the life that once took place between these walls and which were retained as the most original and true. Both Suites and Lodges are equipped with a spacious bathroom (about 15sqm) which is separated by door / screen and rich curtains and equipped with shower and ceramic sanitary ware (of course hot water .. like at home!) : large windows and doors with mosquito nets offer an exceptional ventilation and a beautiful 360 degree view over the fields.
