We booked Villa Giona for our 3 day wedding in August of this year. It far exceeded our expectations! The rooms, the grounds, the food and service are all first class. Rustic but luxurious, homely but elegant; Villa Giona is the perfect place to get married. Ideally located between Lake Garda and Verona, it is also remote enough to feel away from the tourist trail. We hired the whole Villa for the 3 days and felt completely at home. Testament to its beauty is that in a recent conversation with a friend, I was asked where I would get married if I won the lottery and my answer was that I wouldn't change my venue. I think that says it all. Our wedding planner, Marion did a sterling job, we could not have done it without her!

I booked the Villa, all 17 rooms for 3 days for my daughters wedding. We could not have been happier. Every room was special to the point it was hard to choose the one we wanted for ourselves. The wedding was like a fairy tale amongst the beautiful grounds. The food the service and the overall attentiveness of everyone there was excellent. Marion the wedding planner associated with the Villa did an outstanding job, we can not thank her enough. Aside from a wedding venue it is a great place for a honeymoon a special celebration or to just get away. It is located a half hour from Verona and about 45 minutes from Lake Garda.

Room Tip: Every room is special.

The Villa is absolutely a magical place. The staff, the grounds, the overall ambiance far exceeded expectations. Slightly off the beaten path, but not too far out of the way. We loved the area. Close to Verona and Lake Garda. Very special place. A lot of wonderful vineyards close by.

We stayed here the first days of our honeymoon- we cycled from verona - no far to this picturesque huge roman villa, which holds every bit of its history whilst being beautifully furnished inside wand not feeling run down. It is beautifully maintained and used and friendly. The staff were incredible and very helpful, you must take one night at least to eat there - the food is incredible1 simple and extremely tasty, not to mention the wine! There is also a beautiful infinity swimming pool which we had to our ourselves, on a high point, over looking the region . I would thoroughly recommend.

Have just had the most magical weeding weekend at the Villa Giona. The wedding and all the arrangements were superb but here I am just reviewing the hotel and restaurant.

The Villa is simply stunning - from the moment the doors open from the road and you drive into the front drive you just get such a great feeling. The grounds themselves are beautifully manicured and the villa itself is just a fantastic building. Pablo the owner and his staff do a great job to make you feel welcome and he should be very proud of the villa and its decoration. Having our wedding here allowed us to see all the rooms and they are all fantastic. The ones in the main building are all quite different and have features like jacuzzi baths, balconies and feature beds. In the hot Summer the AC struggles a bit so this would be our only criticism. The rooms in the newer areas and the the ones by the pool are all great too and once again with quite a distinctive character.

Breakfast is served on the first floor terrace overlooking the rear gardens and is a nice selection of breads, meats and cheese, cereals, etc. Such a pleasant start to the day. The food we had over the 2 days was all very good and very varied. We had a very pleasant BBQ the night before the wedding - well actually it was all cooked over a fire in the huge fireplace in the villa. The wedding meal itself was superb - had pasta and a pesto risotto to start with, followed by a lovely succulent sea bass with trimmings then a fantastic fillet steak. The deserts we a buffet style with fresh fruit and small individual desserts.

The grounds a great to sit out in either for a drink, lovely meal and let the day go by. The drinks are incredibly reasonable - virtually the same price as you can get the wine at the producers shops down the road in this air growing region.

So overall a magical experience and well worth a stay even without attending. a wedding at this lovely hotel.

PS Marion and Franco do a first rate job at organising weddings at the hotel and are thoroughly recommended.

There is not much you can say about the villa, the grounds and the surrounding area only picture perfect.
Stayed her for a wedding in August 2011.
Our room was lovely and the staff at the hotel were great; my only gripe would be that the bar did not always have staff present when opened, so you could be left waiting to order food and drinks.
Would definately recommend as the perfect venue for an Italian wedding.

Stayed at Villa Giona for 3 days at the end of August (for my daughter's wedding). I can only echo the comments of most others here - we found the whole experience to be a delight. The venue itself is just stunning, and owner Paulo and his staff could not have been more accommodating. The food was amazing, and as you would expect in the heart of Valpolicella country, so was the wine.

Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We found the best rooms were on the 1st floor in the main villa building.
