The hotel as mentioned in previous reviews is a little tired the reception area is lovely and after seeing the hotels we dropped others of at along the way I think we struck lucky with the gillieru the staff were all lovely , the room was a little tired and the bathroom could definitely do with a full overhaul however kept immaculately clean and we had no problems with the towels or bedding didnt use the tv as we were on holiday to see malta not tv the view was lovely ideal location with some fantastic restaurants nearby imcluding the one attached to the hotel we really enjoyed our stay but agree tge hotel is not a four stay but may be after its update in November.

This is a very basic budget hotel with no frills. The rooms are very small and tired. We were on the top floor with a stunning view over the bay. The hotel is in a quiet position with shops and bars just a 5 minute walk away. Bus stop just a few minutes from the hotel or just a bit further up the hill on the main road. The location is perfect you just have to overlook everything else. Food was terrible although when the lady cook was on duty, the food did improve. I would definitely recommend B&B only. The breakfast was very basic and highly processed. There was no fresh fruit or fresh anything. We asked if we could downgrade to B&B and we were refused. The aircon did work but it was terribly noisy and I had to put cotton wool in my ears to muffle it! TV did not work. All staff were friendly enough apart from one receptionist (the older lady with short dark hair and glasses) who was most unfriendly and unhelpful. We asked her to pass a note to Kirsty our Rep who visited 5 days a week twice a day, and she claimed she did not know who she was. On one occasion our transport did not turn up and when we asked this particular receptionist if we might have missed it she replied "how would I know"

There is no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and when we asked for a kettle (as suggested in another review) we were told by this unhelpful receptionist that there was no such thing.

The rooms were cleaned daily(sort of) and towels changed daily but the towels were very grubby and as for the pillow, take my advice and don't look at it. I doubled up with a spare pillowcase from the wardrobe. The shower was fixed half way up the wall making washing very difficult and hair washing even more so and the water trickled out.

The pool is salt water, I'm not sure this was mentioned in the brochure.

Like previous reviews, the only way we would go back to this hotel is if it had a complete overhaul and change of ownership. It is such a shame and it really is in the most perfect location.

If you go to this hotel, just make the best of the stunning view from the balcony(as long as you are facing the sea) and the peace and quiet of the location.

Room Tip: High floor. Overlooking the bay and the pool. This will be shaded during the day to allow you to sit out on the balcony.

Stayed at this hotel for one night and thank goodness for that! When we checked in the guy at reception was nice. Possibly too nice. He was chatting up my partner right in front of me. I was not impressed from the work go.

Then we get our key. Make our way up to the room and thought we wouldn't make it. The lift was on the urge of breaking down. It made terrible sounds. Then we open the door with an old key. There was this stench from the room. Possibly from it being a smoking room? We did not request this. Very unimpressed.

The sheets also smelt. I could not sleep at all. I found it hard the breathe. The bathroom needed an update. It was old and ugly. The hot water wouldn't work at first.

The tv was old as 1800. No remote and unplugged. Very small screen.

The view was great and this was the only thing going for it.

I would not I repeat NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. Unless your desperate.

Would like to pass on my review of your Hotel, this might get things moving for the better , so other guests might have a better stay…..

On arriving early hours on the Friday Morning, No Air-conditioning in Room, none for 4 Days, Slept on Balcony, 2 nights due to temperature in room, gave us a fan to use in room that was being used in hallway, Late Monday afternoon offered another room, as I requested this on the first day, asked to complete Maintenance requests, would only except verbal, continually told that the Manager would contact me, I asked several times but he could not be contacted,
T V very old, had to put finger into holes to change channels, volume etc. Lucky to receive 2, 3 station that could be watched, no remote controls as where damaged, no Batteries, not compatible with TV.
Towels, stained, Had to request to be changed, Pillows had holes, linen poorly washed, lack of Maintenance throughout room / Building, stains on floor leaking pipes, Drink machine in Reception area, not working on the first day, and still not fixed on day 7 so to buy a water you had to walk to the shops,, or get from a restaurant close by.
we were so stressed, we didn't enjoy what we thought was one of the best accommodation in St Paul’s as we booked and paid 3 months in advance, had a safe but you had to pay 15 Euro, List for bar fridge but none, yes the view was great from room (Sea view), several times asked the staff at reception for information on the Restaurant, or made enquiries there was lack of knowledge and any sort of Management leadership on decision making.. …. “Photos Taken” Still having night mares……………

Got a nice room with a lovely view on the fifth floor where we stayed for a week. Most things allright but we had some problems with the refrigerator who turned off if You took out the key and left the room and the television-set (from the 80:th?) where just 4-5 channels worked.
We were pleased with most things but must admit we overheard lot of complaints from other guests. Aircondition that didn´t work was obviously a common problem. So watch it :-)

Room Tip: Nice views on the 4:th and 5:th floor. Try to get a room with a balcony on the seaside.
