I needed to escape a rather damp, dark UK, so returned to my timeshare apartment for a well-earned (some would say?) break. Generally peaceful apartment and again, I was well-looked after by all the reception staff, cleaners, maintenance chaps who are always prompt and helpful when requested, and Alexis from customer relations. Have a lovely summer you guys - I will see you next winter!!
I was self-catering, but regularly used the adequate selection of fine local dining restaurants, which were all within a short walking distance of Porto Azzurro.

The online check in for Ryanair failed to recognize my booking resulting in time consuming and costly attempts to speak to a person at Low Cost Holidays to sort it out.Really not impressed!!!The hotel was OK....ish but the food was awful so we ate out....more extra cost!! The location was fine and we loved the Maltese buses

Easter once again saw us back in Porto Azzuro This time we had three friends with us. We had a large 2 bedroomed apartment which was cleaned every day. the beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean. the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Thanks a lot to Alexis who had arranged everything for us from pick up at the airport to car hire. Alexis was also extremely helpful to us while we were there. We hope to be back at Easter next year. We didn't eat at the complex so can't comment on the food or the bar. Maura

Just come back from a week in Malta, staying at the Porto Azzurro. The hotel is very clean and well maintained, staff are very friendly and helpful. Maid service was daily and the room cleaned to a good standard. We were staying on a bed and breakfast basis but evening meals are available if required. The room we occupied was on the fifth floor with a view over the bay and countryside, this we requested and were not disappointed. As a base there is not a great deal in this part of St Pauls Bay but a short bus ride away (6.50 euro for the week anywhere return) is Bugibba and all places beyond. Valletta is about 45 minutes away but imagine time would increase as the season kicks in. The ferry to Gozo is only 20 minutes down the road, and really anywhere in Malta is available by the bus service which is 2 minutes away from the hotel.

If you hire a car parking is quite tight at the hotel as the entrance is on quite a steep hill but during our stay spaces were always available. We could not fault the hotel for anything. Any problems we encountered were always dealt with swiftly and in a friendly manner, This was our first holiday without our children for some years and suited our requirements exactly, however from what we observed families would enjoy the facilities of the hotel just as much. A great stay and a great base for exploring a wonderful Island, lots to see and do but if you just want the sun and relaxation then Porto Azzurro hits the mark perfectly.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the bay get the sun most of the day till about 1500, the road noise is not a problem. R...

We have just returned from a very enjoyable Easter Break . We stayed in room 608 and had a lovely sun terrace overlooking the pool with views over the bay to our right hand side. The room was very spacious and cleaned to a good standard every day. We did not eat here so cannot comment on the food. we had drinks in the downstairs bar on an evening and enjoyed chatting to some very nice people. Will be back

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 608 on the top floor. Lovely sun terrace with sun loungers and table and chairs...

We are a family of 5 and booked our holiday through On The Beach.com. There was no open upon booking for a family room so were allocated two rooms. I emailed their customer services to explain our children were 14,11 & 3 and would prefer to all be together but the best they could do was to request we were next door to each other. I managed to get the hotel managers email addresss and sent my concerns direct. Upon arrival we were given a great two bedroom apartment that had a new kitchen and two bathrooms, one with a bath which was fantastic for our 3yr old. We're we're on the 4th floor with no real view but we did not spend much time in apartment so didn't mind. The pools were across the road to the hotel but the pool and sunbathing areas were fine for us and safe. As we arrived slightly out of season the pool bar was closed and pool a little dirty at the bottom. The bus service is fantastic and we went all over the place. We used the buses every night to go out for tea as not much choice if restaurants near hotel. Breakfast was fine for us all with plenty of choice. Would like to return to Malta in the future and would have no problems staying here again. All staff helpful and friendlyxx
