Ideal place to stay for exploring the island. Not the ritz but as you can see by reviews you get what you pay for and although dated very clean. We stayed for 2wks from 3rd-17th May. Clean towels daily except Sundays+clean sheets twice a wk,rooms basic but sufficient,we had air con, microwave, huge fridge+adequate cooker. All staff very nice + helpful especially Joseph the nightshift receptionist who works 7pm till 7am and didnt mind getting anything or letting us in after 12mn when they lock the doors. Lovely gentleman !! Definately visit Tommy in his bar which is part of the complex. Its called the Cornish Arms and his prices for food and drink are excellent !Again not the ritz but nice food+same alchohol as anywhere else just cheaper ! We arrived10pm our 1st night and altho food was finished made us ham, eggs+chips as we were starving. He is good company aswell once he's finished cooking+we had 3or4 late nights having good laughs with other residents - he closes when last people go to bed 1 of which was 6 of us at 4.30am !! Was good night 6 residents not very well next day ! All in all we enjoyed our first trip to Malta and may return again next yr. if we do would stay at Clover again.

Room Tip: book superior room

We've just returned from a week on the island of Malta staying at the resort of Bugibba. This accommodation is really good value for money and the management are really helpful and (like all the Maltese we met) friendly. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was very clean. The room was attended to every day which was lovely. Our only gripe was that our apartment was in a corner location and so it didn't benefit from any sun during the day. We could have asked for a different room, but we spent so little time in it that it didn't really matter much. The pool area is lovely - clean and smart, and they have a nice sunbathing deck. Tommy runs the Cornish Arms which is within the complex and they do a good all round breakfast and we heard very good reports about his evening meals too. Be prepared for some interesting banter!! The Clover is in a good position for access to the beach front, the bus station and the main 'tourist' street where there are many bars and restaurants. But, it's nice and quiet being down a side street so you wake well refreshed for another busy day touring the island by bus. By a week's unlimited travel for 12 Euros. The buses are frequent and fun and you can get almost anywhere on the island easily. Enjoy your holiday!

Great location, 5 minutes from the bus station, sea front and main entertainment area in Bujiba. Staff helpful and friendly. Rooms basic but adequate, could do with a microwave and a wall socket in the kitchen area. Fantastic no adaptors needed..

Just returned from a second Self Catering stay at The Clover. Nothing much changed from last year. The place is clean, decor and rooms are a bit dated. Staff really helpful. It has outdoor and indoor pool, jacuzzis. £140 for a Superior Studio for a week can`t be bad value for money can it?
Get a room with Air Con though, as leaving the Studio door open lets the bugs in as I found out to my peril.

Room Tip: Get a room with Air Con. If you are not happy with the room they are very good at changing rooms if...

Booked thapartments through Thomas Cook and the fligths with Easy jet, flights were fine. I booked a taxi with Vintage cabs, vintage@go.net.mt, the owner Amanda is a font of knowledge and really friendly, the return trip cost 40 Euro and they didnt take the money until the return trip. this was my first experience of Malta and i have already booked again to return, the people are really nice, friendly and family orientated. We arrived at the Clover complex and were not dissapointed. The only thing I can say negative about the 1st room we got was that it had no air con and it was really hot. the next morning we went to reception and were informed no rooms booked with Thomas Cook have air com, we were able to upgrade to a superior room for a fee of 17 euro per nigth. we upgrade and to be honest were not dissapointed so we didnt mind paying the extra it was worth it. the pool is a decent size and there are about 25 sunbeds around it, there is also a sun terrace with lots of beds. The bar restaurant is a seperate franchise from the apartments and although i had a drink in the bart i wasnt tempted to eat in it. I didnt hear any complaints etc but it was just not my scene. apart from the 1st nigth we arrived (hence the heat) there is a constant breeze on the island, there are umpteen restaurants and bars we found. Goodfellas is a great bar, the owner shave all the sports on sevral well placed tv's and the prices are really cheap. we ate in La Stalla, the steaks are massive a great atmosphere and sevrice. the Plumtree has a great set menu and is family friendly. too many good bars and eating houses to mention.

Room Tip: You get what you pay for in Malta, but the clover is a decent spot, the superior rooms are a little...

We had never been to Malta and were on a tight budget so wanted everything that the Clover offered...decent location, near to amenities and facilities for self catering.
It provided all of these and whilst it is obviously dated in decor it was good enough apart from the sofas which needed either a clean or re-covering.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and found the staff lovely (especially Mandy? on the reception desk). However as reformed smokers we struggled a bit with the 'chimneys' in the reception area and would have been happier if the place had a stricter smoking policy.
All in all good value and in a convenient location.

We arrived at the Clover apartments to be told that the heater was not working but the man was coming to fix it in the afternoon. When returned from a walk the workman was in our apartment, heating unit had been taken apart and dust was all over the bed. The heater was put back together and we were told that it could not be fixed until the following week. Subsequently the rooms were very damp, beds were uncomfortable and damp. We were given a heater which almost set on fire, I got my arm stuck in the lift door and we got locked out as when we returned just after midnight from a night out. The bar a restaurant were closed and the staff were not friendly.

We only stayed two nights out of a week, however had to pay for an alternative hotel and Clover refused to give us a refund even for the days we did not stay there.

We moved to the San Antonio Hotel which was lovely.
