“Excellent service and good food”

We had this restaurant recommended to us by Jordan at Buddies Dive centre. After a few nights of not very good meals in other restaurants it was lovely to find such a welcoming and hospitable restaurant, the steaks were amazing as was the service and the little extras. We enjoyed it so much we went back for a second meal on the last night of our holiday and were amazed that we were remembered from our previous visit. Excellent restaurant would definitely visit again on a future trip.

“Great service and good food...”

We found this establishment on Tripadvisor and after checking out the menu decided to give it a try. It is quite central-between Qawra and Bugibba and there are always people walking by the outdoor seating. The World Cup in soccer was going on at the time of our visit, so they had rigged up a very large outdoor screen to attract more bar customers, which it did. This caused a little more noise than we had expected, as Incognito would be the perfect place for a romantic dinner under normal circumstances. You can make reservations, but if you don't have one and show up aaround 7 p.m. you are pretty sure to get a table.

The service is excellent and the friendly waiters/waitresses and management are always checking on you and offering you fresh bread, garlic bread and other little extras. I was not extremely hungry so I decided to order two starters (warm octopus sallad and sautéed mushrooms on rice) while my husband ordered the special Incognito sirloin steak. My husband's entrée was perfect and he really enjoyed it, but my octopus sallad was so enormous and not really a sallad at all. The huge pile of octopus was by itself and there were som greens on the plate, but definitely not what I expected and definitely not a sallad. It tasted nice, but getting through such a large portion, which should have been a starter size, was difficult. I had almost no room for the mushrooms and could eat none of the rice.

For some people, these large portions would be perfect, but I was put off upon seeing them and if I would have been given half as much, I would have been much happier. To me, leaving food on the plate is a bit of an embarrassment and I was afraid that they would think that I did not enjoy my dinner.

After the plates were cleared, the waitress walked around offering beautiful profiterols, but I had no room to try them or the special, after-dinner shot which was offered. We left the restaurant a little before the soccer crowd got really noisy to walk back to the hotel in the beautiful night air.

I would absolutely recommend this restaurant. It has a varied menu, great sevice and the food is well-prepared . When you tire of the "pizza and chips" places in Qawra/Bugibba, and would like a tasty meal in a nice environment you should choose this place. Just make sure to let them know what size portions you would like!

“Amazing food!”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

Do not miss the opportunity to go to this restaurant and bar, the food is out of this world, the steaks are magnificent and your knife will slide through it like butter, but the most delicious thing on the menu for me was the lobster thermidor, best I've had! My boyfriend had the bbq ribs and said they were unbelievable. Make sure you book because this place is always full, the staff are amazing and made us feel very special and the frozen daquiris are a must.
