A few small hickups partly due to the volcanic activity. Each one resolved quickly and without fuss. In every respect the hotel came up to our expectations. My last action before leaving was to book for next year. I have been a frequent visitor to Malta and this has been the best in quality of accomodation , service and value for money to date. This will be my first choice of hotel in the future when visiting Malta. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. It is easy to see why so many of their guests return.

We had a fortnight in April at the Park Lane. As ever the place is excellent!

The location is second to none, and the staff extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. It would be unfair to single out any of the staff, but special mentions must go to Daniella, Andrea, Claudine and Jason in the bar and restaurant.

We had two rooms, the un-refurbished one is beginning to show its age, but was still clean and comfortable. The refurbished rooms are really well done.

The rooms were cleaned daily, and towels changed on demand (the usual routine is that you leave the towels on the rails if you don't want them replaced and put them in the bath if you do)

The hotel has free wifi, the signal was a bit "iffy" on the second floor, but downstairs in the bar was excellent and quick. And we were glad of it, the Icelandic volcano erupted while we were there and we were able to keep in touch with travel problems. The hotel staff were really understanding when it came to the possibility of having to extend our stay, by luck we didn't have to as the air travel was resumed the day before we were due to leave. I wouldn't have minded being stuck at the Park Lane for an extended stay if we had to!

There are three good supermarkets nearby, of which only one opens on a Sunday. There are literally dozens of restaurants within walking distance (my mobility is poor, but I could get into Buggiba square and to Qawra seafront easily enough).

For restaurants, I heartily recommend La Sopresa further up Triq it-Turisti, and the Pear Tree around the corner from the Santana Hotel. For entertainment, you'll not go far wrong with a trip to Tuckers, (behind the Santana) on a Saturday to hear Aaron, the best Elvis and Roy Orbison impersonator I've seen in years!

We ate mainly out of the hotel, but did have meals on a couple of occasions, and were very happy with the quality and the portions. We used the bar regularly, and tried most of the offered drinks. If you don't mind International brands of beer (lager), the Skol at 1.20 Euros was the best buy, but the spirits and island brewed beers were a little more expensive. The hotel is starting to experiment with happy hours, and I was the only customer! Hopefully word will get around, and this will become a regular thing.

I could go on and on about Malta, Qawra and Buggiba , but I'll not bore you all. Suffice it to say, we are looking to go back in both October and April, all being well. And that should be all the recommendation needed.

What am I saying? I shouldn't be recommending the place, as it would make it busier and harder to get a booking, . It's rubbish, don't go..... Seriously, the Park Lane is highly recommended, and well worth te money.

Where shall i start...

Family Apartment - Much bigger than expected. Consisted of 3 bedrooms (1 master, 2 normal sized rooms) with 2 twin beds in each room, a wardrobe & a dressing table. 2 bathrooms (1 with a bath, toilet & a sink. The other with a shower, toilet & a sink) The living area consisted of a leather sofa and a side table and chair. The kitchen was open planned with a table and 5 chairs. The kitchen was fully equiped as told it would be. We had a balcony which hovered over the street with views of the sea, shops, restaurants and buses. OVERALL THE APARTMENT WAS CLEAN, TIDY AND SPACIOUS.

Staff - Receptionist daniella was extremely helpful from when i booked the apartment to when i left. She gave us advice on clubs, beaches, taxis, restaurants, buses ect...

The cleaner - She came to our room everyday with clean bedding and fresh towels. 4 days out of the 7 she came into our apartment and mopped and dusted the apartment from top to bottom.

Restaurant - Although we only ate one meal from smalts was extremely satisfied. Service with a smile. Quick and cheap.

Pool - The roof top pool was cold but was expected as it was the start of the summer and had a few breezes at the top of the building and the pool was not heated. Smaller than expected but didnt use it so cant complain.

Indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna - This is all based in a different hotel which you have to pay a fee to use. Not much but couldnt be bothered as didnt want to spend all day inside.

Buggabi nightlife is slow pace more for familys or the elderly. If you looking for clubs/nightlife you need to go to paceville which is a bus ride away. I would recommend hugos or plush. The only downer buses stop running early during this time of year so it means you need to get a taxi home which costs around 20 euros.

Golden bay is the best beach. Mehilla bay is over rated. Loads of watersports for cheap. Such as pedal boats, banana boat, crazy sofa and jet ski's and a few more.

OVERALL STAY WAS WICKED, WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND AND STAY AGAIN!

We stayed at Park Lane for 5 nights in early March on a self-catering basis. The room was a lovely big studio with balcony & sea view, nice and clean and with all cutlery and crockery needed to make meals. The service was excellent and Daniela and the other staff went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable stay.
Qawra is quite a way from Valletta (about 30 mins by bus) but the hotel is located about 30 seconds from the bus depot and there are plenty of busses going all over the island. We went during the off-season and it was very quiet but I should imagine the area is very busy and touristy during the summer.

I only stayed here the 1 night but was delighted with my stay, location of the hotel was excellent, yards away from the bus terminal.

Check-in was very swift and staff were very polite and helpfull.

The apartment was larger than I was expecting and more than happy with the furnishings. I had no complaints with anything and next time I return to Malta I will be booking the Park Lane for the whole duration of my stay in Malta.
