Having stayed often in Malta, always take hotel star ratings with a pinch of salt, this hotel like many in Malta was built some time ago and showing its age, its however kept very clean and the rooms are not bad at all. I found the staff generally speaking helpful and pleasent enough to deal with. It would appear the rooms had been upgraded in recent years.

Food generally speaking I found poor and the dining room tiny for the number of clients stayinng, I opted to eat out most of the time, even though I had paid for AI.

To be fair to the hotel only booked AI as was at a bargin price, so always intended to eat out part of the time even if food had been better.

Having said the food was not very good at such reasonable prices would consider staying again on B&B basis.

The Hotel is what to be expected of most of reviews on here, it was cleaned daily bed covers changed daily, bathroom cleaned Daily. But it is in need of updating but for the price it was a good Hotel just a bit old fashioned, The only FAULT I HAD was the ceiling fan that was above the Bed hadn't looked like it had ever been cleaned, My husband insisted to have it on But I had a fear of the dust flying off into my face, so I put Duvet over my body I would stay here again as long as got a good deal as we already did Through Ryan airXXXXX

spent a long ( 71 day ) winter stay here returning home in Feb 2013. found our room adaquate and the room service was excellent , our maid was Anna and she kept every thing spick & span.food was ample with a good selection at all sittings . the staff were all friendly and helpfull and they provided entertainment almost every evening.Tony the bar man would do a stint singing on carioko nights, he,s brill. the hotels location is spot on with every thing you need just a short walk away. if you want value for money this is the place, the wife and me will returning again this winter.

Room Tip: when in Malta try to mix with the locals, they are the most friendly people you could wish to meet.

Room and staff can't fault them, swimming pools not good no rails to help you in,food could do with bit more variety ,etc more salad options and perhaps cream or custard to accompany the deserts.Good location, weather hot.

Room Tip: Front or facing pool.

Couldn't get to the room till 14:00hrs, not big issues as you can leave your suitcase in a room next to the reception. Near to the local bus terminus, were you can get a weekly ticket for 12 euros and you'll see the whole island for that, just beware of the driver changing destination when your on the move, happened to us once, but if in doubt ask the driver before getting on, they rarely ask to see your tickets once on, and they fill up quick.
Best beaches Golden Bay and Mellieha Beach both on a bus route to the north, and we took a trip over to sister island Gozo on the ferry which run every 40mins but takes some 20 mins to reach, then get to the capital Victoria, and visit the Basilica San Gorg the views are stunning.
And dont miss out on Valletta and mid-day at the Upper Barrakka Gardens for the Saluting Battery something to set your watches by, and afterwards a walk round, I should say make sure you have some good walking shoes on as some of the hills in this city are 45dgrs and you need to be fit, plenty of places to eat and drink and people watch if thats you thing, and the churhes, well you must go in and look round they are very grand and tkae your breath away.
Eating out is easy enough and we went for a couple of set menus which when the food came out you had difficulty finishing as there was plenty, drinks are reasonalbe and the people are always helpful. The sealife center is nearby but at 12euros each a little expensive to my tastes.
Would I go back to Malta???....perhaps but as there are very fews beaches I'd not take small children unless you stop in the two resorts that I mentioned.
B & B at the Canifor was the same each day but plenty of it at the same time, staff pleasant
rooms kept clean each day.

Room Tip: We had a room on the 4th floor on the front of the hotel, sun all afternoon, with a view to the sea...

I was quite terrified having booked this Hotel and reading the reviews afterwards. Against the odds, I have very much enjoyed my holiday there! I have paid £380 for 5 nights (2 adults and 2 children All inclusive). The hotel staff was nice and helpful, there is a variety of food to chose from . The room was cleaned and the towels were changed once a day. Maybe it is not the cleanest hotel ever but if you like to be picky and you expect the Hilton 5 star standards, you would have to pay 3 times more and you will get what you want... This Hotel is perfect for the price you pay. I would definitely recommend it to my friends....
