We arrived at the Canifor late evening ,and we were greeted by a grumpy, rude receptionist. We were given a room which can only be described as a "cell". Fortunately we had a window ,some other guests were not so lucky. The room was very grubby and outdated ,the power sockets did not work, the toilet did not flush ,the T.V. socket was hanging off the wall ,and their were bugs in the bathroom and on the bed . This is nothing like the photos on the internet. The pool was tiny and not well maintained ,and the sunbed cushions were filthy. The staff were extremely rude and had no sense of customer service. The air conditioining did not work either ,so overall this hotel would not be recommened for animals, let alone humans. Upon complianing to reception ,us and a bus load of other customers were transfered to their sister hotel "The Coral",this was much better .The rooms were clean and well maintained and reflected the price we had paid,as a last minuite deal. The staff were really friendly and helpful, its a shame the staff at the Canifor were not the same. The only down side was the food was not always of a great standard and choice. We were just gald along with many other people that we were able to move. Dont stay at the Canifor Hotel as you will be greatly disappointed and it could ruin a lovely holiday .

We upgraded to this hotel from The Coral so anything would be better than that dump which is about a 1* and should never be catering for all inclusive. The accomodation was quite nice, the place and room was clean and our room was bright and airy with a balcony overlooking the pool. The outside pool is very small and there is also an inside pool with jacuzzi and a jacuzzi on the roof. The thing that lets this hotel down is the food which is like school dinners and the same meals (more or less) every night and day. There is one girl who is very rude in the restaraunt her name is Maria and you will be waiting all day to get served a drink if she is there easier to go and get it yourself from the bar outside. One lunch time I ordered Turkey Corden Bleau and was served a large Turkey nugget in breadcrumbs and foul tasting chip VILE! My advice is the hotel is OK but don't go all inclusive. The breakfast is not too bad so B&B would be OK.

Myself,my mum and my stepdad just got back from staying here for 10 nights. Not sure where all these bad reviews have come from???Yes there are minor issues such as the size of the pool and the lack of fresh fruit but the positives far outweigh the negatives. The rooms were clean and of ample size. The beds are soooo comfy! We went all inclusive and the food was nice and drinks were fine too.The entertainment was not really suited to the younger generation like myself but there were plenty of bars etc not too far from the hotel. The staff were lovely especially Clifton and Graham :).The hotel is in a great location - just a few minutes walk to the seafront and the bus terminus.
Please ignore the bad reviews!!

This was our first trip to Malta and we wont be going back!We stayed at the Canifor Hotel for a weeks all inclusive..The food was terrible, roast potatoes and brussel sprouts for dinner with meat and gravy! There was no fruit and no selection of salads. It was like eating school dinners. There were no snacks or ice cream as you'd expect from an all inclusive hotel and if you did have a drink it had to be signed for.Ieven had to sign for a glass of water!
The staff were very unhelpful and didnt want to do anything for us...they even moaned when we got stuck in the lift on our second day there, like it was our fault! They had to prise the doors open to get us out!Our room was clean but we did get told off for using too much hot water!
Now to the pool...whoever took the photo of the pool must have been a magician because on the internet it looked lovely. In reality,it looked like a bird bath.In fact, we paid to go into a lido everyday down the road which was lovely and clean.

We have just returned from the Canifor hotel and can only describe the all inclusive package at this hotel as by far the worst I have ever been to. No snacks after 3 in the afternoon. No fresh Juices except with a spirit, food that is inedible at all sittings and a problem with cockroaches and mice in the dining areas. The other down side is a pool area that is in the shade by 12.30pm and the entertainment is a joke (unless you are Maltese, as they take over on a Saturday and Sunday night for the Maltese band).
On the up side the staff are friendly and the rooms are clean and well maintained. I would return to Malta but defiantly not this hotel

We paid for a superior delux room non smoking - we got a dirty room with dirty bed linen and gold throws that had all sorts of marks and cigarette burns on them from previous clients. Our bathroom had chipped tiles on the floor and walls. We could write our names on the dust at bedside cabinets. The rugs were never lifted or brushed. Our room had a dirty floor when we arrived and still had the same two dirty marks when we left.
The staff friendliness is something else. In the restaurant the waiter sgo around kicking chairs and slapping tables if you dare ask them anything. They were also very good at lifting your plate away before you were finished.
