Love this place so much. The family that run the hotel are like family to myself and my family. We used to go every year as kids and even growing up into adults. Fab service lovely surrounding and right in the centre of bugubba near all the shops. If your looking for a relaxing time and a fab holiday I suggest that you stay here.

I spent 3 weeks at the Buccaneers Guest House in August 2013. It is a good accomodation quite close to the sea in Bugibba, offering a basic room sufficiently furnitured (washbowl, toilet, shower) with excellent air conditioning (that cannot be renounced in August). I choose the half board formula with breakfast (basic but enjoyable) and dinner (very good and plentiful). The staff is nice and the owners Frank and Charlie Govè are simply excellent people. Frank makes very good dishes in the kitchen and Charlie manages the good working of the structure. In sums, an excellent accomodation with relation to the low cost. The only thing that is "low" is the cost, everything else is "high". I will certainly go back to the Buccaners Guest House. Thanks to Frank and Charlie and their staff.

Just returned from a wonderful two week stay at the Buccaneer. We had a spacious family room with balcony for us and 13 yr old. Father stayed in a single room. We were more than happy with the accomodation. The rooms were spotless with towels changed daily and the aircon made it very comfortable.

Contrary to other reviews we found the food to be good. OK the breakfast was only tea/coffee, toast and cereal. Not quite continental, but we found it to be enough. There was also the option to buy extras, full english was only 2euros, it was very good value. The evening meal was three courses and there as a huge choice of main meals. We never had a bad meal. Again referring to other reviews, if you expect gourmet dining, you will be disappointed. The food is more akin to family cooking, but it was well cooked and with the large choice, we were all satisfied with it. I doubt there is anywhere in Bugibba that offers a three course meal for only 5 euros. However if you don't want to be tied to evening meals, there is a big choice of quality restaurants within a few minutes walk away.

The pool on the rooftop is only a splash pool, but there are plenty of sunbeds and it was ideal for sunbathing. The pool, was ideal for a dip at the end of a day out. Laundry facilities on the rooftop were also very handy.

What made our holiday was the friendliness of the owners and staff. Charlie, in his own quirky way was very entertaining and accomodating and Marta in the restaurant was a delight, providing great service. The family and staff do their best to give guests a quality service.

Overall a great stay. If you are expecting a resort hotel, then you may be disappointed. This is a family ran guest house and as such, can not be compared as it is a different experience. However you get a much more personal service. We have stayed in Bugibba ten times now and have found the Buccaneers to be the best value for money. We'll definitely return.

Fabulous place to visit if you want to lose weight. I lost 7lbs in 6 days! Food terrible, breakfast disgusting. Croissants were stale, bread frozen and water came out of the small cheap margerine tubs when you opened it!The lasagne was inedible as were most of the evening meals. Charlie the owner wanted everything to be paid in cash upfront, thats probably how he can afford to spend all winter on cruises or visiting America. Anything that you did pay with on a card cost an extra 8%. Most things you had to pay for extra, the use of the safe, juice for breakfast, a cooked breakfast,a kettle.Very unfriendly staff and the bedrooms were not very clean with awful plastic curtains and the bathroom flooded every time you had a shower. Cheap but certainly not cheerful. Only to be recommended for fast weight loss!!

The food is good and there is alot of choice. The staff is very helpful and always ready to help.

If travelling alone or with friends or family it is ideal.

stayed for the first time at Buccaneers and had a wonderfull time! Friendly people, central in Bugibba and clean, simple rooms (with ac).
You are really a guest here, not a room number. making small talk with the owner and personell, they know you by name in no time. Had arranged transfer from/to the airport with the accommodation, cheaper than a taxi and no problem if it's day or night.

Half Board is recommended, dinner is excellent with lots of choices. Breakfast is simple but for a little extra money a full English breakfast or just some toast with eggs / cheese etc is possible.

If you are looking for a friendly, cheap place to stay while enjoying the islands during the day this is it! Would recommend it too for divers. Almost all dive centers in the northern part of the island will pick you up for free, plus big chance you'll meet other divers who stay at Buccaneers.

Service was excellent. I would reccomend you let them arange the transfers from and to the airport as I found that to be cheaper than doing it myself. The room was very clean with air conditioning. There is a toilet in the room which is boxed in behind some kind of perspex screen. If thats not private enough there are also toilets on the main coridor. Sleep quality was not great because there was a very loud air conditioning unit outside our window. The food on the all inclusive deal was not great either but for 24 euros per night I can't complain. The location is fine, just off the main drag of Bugibba. Bus stops to Valletta, Mdina and the best beaches just a two minute walk away. There are plenty of shops and places to eat in the centre. If you go here, I highly reccomend that you take a boat trip to The Blue Lagoon. It's just breath-taking. We went on the cruise with The Romantika boat, we were out all day and it cost 15 euros. The staff at The Buccaneers are very friendly and I would certainly stay there again. On leaving, Charlie, the main man, gave me a shopping bag branded with The Buccaneers logo. I thought that was very nice.
