We stayed here for a night after our visit to the Death Valley. The place was very clean and nice and the bed was comfortable. In the morning we had a nice small breakfast with fresh cake and enjoyed the view on the mountains.

Left some items behind, not a problem, the owner Jim sent them to me ASAP. I think he threw me off when in the morning before the final room search he drew me in to the office for fresh coffee cake and Java. Nice place to spend a night.

The Independence Inn is a small charming roadside hotel. I normally stay in Best Westerns, Hamptons, & Holiday Inn Expresses so I would normally not even consider this hotel. It was great!!!! Very clean. You can park right in front of your room. The owner was very hospitable. We were going on a hike and the owner offered to keep some of our valuables at the hotel rather than them being in a car at a trailhead parking lot for a week. We're coming back!!!!!

The Independence Inn is definitely the home away from home. Jim (the owner) treated us like family. The Inn is very clean and he takes alot of pride in the property and it shows! He took great care of my husband and I as we were mending from the trail. He went out of his way to help us in any way he could! His great coffee and especially his homemade coffee cake & bread was just one of many perks to this place. I highly recommend this place to PCT hikers and travelers passing through. The quiet and beautiful views of the sierras will blow you away! We definitely plan on stopping by again and seeing Jim! THANKS AGAIN Jim for everything you did for us! Carol n Charlie Zerillii

Room Tip: All the rooms look great, Jim takes personal pride in every room. The beds are extremely comfortabl...

Independence was a much needed resupply spot for the wife and I as we made our way North on the Pacific Crest Trail. Looking for a place to relax for a couple of days before returning to the trail we stumbled across the Independence Inn. Our host Jim Getzinger was the best and went out of his way to make our stay a pleasant one. Our room (#5) was very clean and just perfect for the two of us including our pup Willow. The room included a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Each morning a breakfast made from scratch (homemade bread and coffee cake) was served in the office area. Internet, both Wi Fi and hard wire, were available. We truly enjoyed our stay here at the Independence Inn and hope one day to return for a visit. Thank you, Jim!

My wife and I often travel to Independence and stay for 2-3 days to hike in the mountains and also to take walks in the Owens Valley. We value sitting out on the porch, drinking coffee, and looking at the Sierra views. This motel has the best porch views in Independence, the best "coffee spot." It also has great walks into the Owens valley, with a real "old west" feel that throws you back in time to the water wars of a century ago and the early days of the valley. Jim (the owner) is very helpful, and he also makes great coffee cake for breakfast. We have stayed in five motels in Independence over the years and this is the best. Charlie Stuart

Came into Independence from the PCT and found the Courthouse Motel less than inviting. Called Jim of the Independence Inn Motel and I couldn't be happier. He was very inviting and an outstanding host. Fresh homemade bread, coffee cake, and coffee this morning truly hit the spot. Also the view of the Sierra Nevada from the stoop is outstanding. Staying here is a truly wonderful experience! Thank you so much!
