We went for lunch on a Wednesday with only 1 other table of four. Entrees were not served at the same time so two of us waited and received our meals 15 minutes later.
The onion soup and bread basket were the only items worth eating. The two small links of duck sausage were $18.00 and really not that great. Salads were almost all lettuce and grilled veggie sandwich had two small grilled zucchini. Total was $90.00 for 4.
We wanted to try it since we have heard a lot about it and always drive by on our way to Mammoth.
I would only go back for a bowl of onion soup.

We went for lunch and got there with one other table occupied. We walked in a were handed menus without the uninterested waitress saying anything. We took them and found ourselves a table. We were given quite some time to order. They were out of one item that we ordered we were informed 10 minutes later. It took more than 30 minutes to get the first 2 burgers (out of 4) and the other 2 came 12 minutes later. The fries were unedible. The salmon burgers tasted like frozen/ thawed patties. The bread we asked for never arrived. We left as quickly as we could... but more than an hour later (with only 2 tables occupied) and more than 60 dollars poorer... for 4 burgers and tap water. Would not recommend it.

What a nice surprise. The food was delicious. Had a nice glass of wine. The owner serves you. It is not an "American" style meaning you don't have a waiter waiting on you every second; no rushing. It was so relaxing to just be able to sit and talk. The menu is not very big, but the specials added to it make up for it! Oh the Greek Salad was the best. Home grown veggies, the dressing was very tasty, not over powering. Yummy. Will definitely return.

What an unexpected gem! Owned and operated by a French family with the feel (and prices!) of a Paris Bistro. Food is made to order so bring your patience and a good appetite.

For many years, we had been wanting to try this restaurant on our way through Independence but the timing was never right. It has a great reputation with Eastern Sierra locals. It is an unlikely gourmet restaurant in a little mountain town. The food lived up to our expectations. I had French onion soup and Salad Nicoise and my husband had Pasta Primavera. Ingredients were very fresh and seasonings were pleasing. It also lived up to it's reputation for slow service, some locals teasingly call it the "Still Waiting Cafe." Go, as we did, when you can take the time to really enjoy the food and your companions.
