This was Lisa and my second visit, the first being to celebrate Gordon's birthday 3 years ago. Once again from the moment we arrived we were all made to feel most welcome, Ali and Caroline and not forgetting Freddie the dog are perfect hosts. The food is to die for and the rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The pool is glorious on a hot day.

I would certainly recommend Cortijo Valverde and will be visiting again before not too long

Room tip: The 2 rooms within the main house are slightly larger, but the 5 remaining rooms across the other side of the pool are equally comfortable. We have stayed in both now so speak from experience

We stayed here the second week of a two week Autumn Birdwatching holiday having stayed the first week on the west coast near Barbate. This was a Gem of a find at which Ali boasts that 30% of guests return, and I can see why. Ali and Caroline clearly love what they do and it is evident in the care and attention shown to all guests. All the food provided is made fresh by Caroline. Every meal was welcomed and duly demolished by all. My wife does not eat fish and another guest did not eat meat but this did not stop Caroline in effortlessly working around their needs. Super, Super food. 👏 Ali's hosting skills are superb his knowledge of the local area was brilliant. Both he and Caroline could not do enough to make us feel welcome and at home. The accommodation is excellent and well placed to base yourself and visit many local attractions. If I had one gripe it was the occasional barks from the dogs across the valley at night. However this would not deter me from going back in the future. If you want something special away from it all yet within easy reach of things to do and places to see, then here it is. As for the Birding? 161 species recorded topped this trip off as the culmination of a truly great stay. Oh, nearly forgot Freddie the dog and the three cats who's presence added to the charming atmosphere of this 'not to miss' place to stay.

this was the first time we have stayed in this area as we usually chhose France. The tripadvisor ratings added to Sawday comments confirmed the choice for us but still you go to a new place with some trepidiaion.................but it was entirely misplaced. From the initial greeting from Caroline and Ali through the excellent meals to first class accommodation this is a little gem. The pool is excelent for relaxing or swimming or both. The rooms are well appointed and all have excellent views. The advice above and beyond from Ali and Caroline on everythng from local trips. best routes, what to avpid and must sees was always spot on. the communal meal table allows for excellent conversation. The 3 cats and ;ittle dog add to the charm. We will be back!

A bit late writing the review (only 12 months!) but we had such enjoyable stay. Ali and Caroline make everyone feel so welcome, fantastic food, comfortable accommodation and good company. The area is beautiful, so many fascinating places within easy reach - what more could you want?

I spend a memorable summer holiday in the Cortijo Valverde, together with my daughter (16), son (14) and brother-in-law at. We rented two 2-bed bungalows (a bedroom with seats and a bathroom) that were clean, trendy and spacious. We did not feel the need to switch on the airco system although it got quite hot outside during the day. In the morning we walked through the garden to the main villa where a healthy breakfast was served. During the day, we visited Malaga, Cordoba, Granada, Ronda (all daytrips) as well as Alora and the Ardales lakes. We also stayed a day in the B&B garden and swam in the lovely pool. Most evenings we had dinner at the cortijo, sharing a long table with other travelers. Caroline is an excellent cook. She prepares local Andalusian dishes, and Ali serves the food and takes good care of the guests. They really treated us like family. Some time in the future I will return to the Cortjo Valverde...
