This is a lovely part of the world. Alora nestles in a verdant valley beneath the mountains, not far from the El Chorro Gorge. Fuego Blanco is a lovely place to spend a holiday on a beautiful finca (organic lemons, oranges, olives) and with lovely hosts, Ken and Sarah. You are made very welcome. It is very peaceful and a great place to unwind and so we keep going back year after year. There is also plenty to do and places to visit when we feel more energetic. Something different this year for me was a visit to a friend's goat farm where we were shown how goats' cheese is made in the old and traditional way. No mechanisation here. The highlight was that I made the cheese myself - we all did. There is great satisfaction in making cheese from scratch. It is a weird and magical process - the way it has been made for centuries. This is an experience ticked off my bucket list! Needless to say we will return to Fuego Blanco again next year.
