“Great stopover on our tour of Andalucia”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

We spent the first two nights of our trip here, travelling from Malaga Airport by hire car.
We had a beautiful apartment in block 1, with everything one could wish for, very good value for money. There are 2 very nice swimming pools, one with a Jacuzzi. Breakfast is available and there is a bar, but we self-catered. We arrived on a Sunday and were concerned as to whether we would be able to buy any food, but there are 2 small supermarkets on the main road (the A7), about 1.5 miles away, which are open 7 days a week, I would agree with the other reviewers that a car is pretty much essential if you are staying here. There is good underground parking, quite narrow spaces though. There was supposed to be free wifi in the room but it didn't work, however there was free wifi in near the reception, which seemed to work ok. The staff were all absolutely delightful and helpful.

Firstly, yes, you definitely do need a car!!! If you don't have one you will be miserable or will spend a small fortune in taxis.
If you have a car then there is absolutely no better home from home than this. It is exactly what we wanted as in, it was far enough away from town centres for quiet relaxing days yet near enough to get to the hub of the nightlife within a short drive. For us the location was perfect. The suites are amazing, exactly what you'd expect in a home from home (yes, as previous notes, there's no kettle or iron or tea towels - so be prepared as we were and pack a travel iron, couple dish towels and boil your water in a pot then you will have no probs) all kitchen drawer utensils are there, good sized fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, electric oven and hob, hit any of the supermarkets on the way in from the airport and buy your washing up liquid, machine tablets and fabric conditioner. Then stock your fridge with goodies - beer, wine, champers and even brand spirits are sooooo cheap, buy local brands juice, ice lollies and ice poles (plastic cups for taking to pool area) and then stock up with breads, cheeses, hams, salads, fruits, pastas and there's no urgency to leave until you are ready to explore this gorgeous area. You'll be amazed at how much you can buy and stock up your fridge for very little money.
The staff are amazing, they leave you to it but are around to answer any queries or assist you if or when required.
We've holidayed a lot but hand on heart i've never enjoyed a pool so much or felt any pool so clean. There's two pools on site, one with a jacuzzi, but we found the one to the left of the reception area suited our family best. Also, the pool side showers were really cute bird-cage styles, combined with clear blue skies, we found it peaceful and sheer bliss.
We were on the 2nd floor so had amazing views of the gorgeous landscapes and grand private villas - this is definitely a residential area amongst a couple of golf clubs hence not much around you within walking distance.
As we had a car there's a lot within 30-60 mins drive around, Marbella, Puerto Banus, Estepona, Gibraltar, we did them all and would highly recommend.
The private car parking is underground and we had a private elevator from there up to our suite - it is a tight car park, but like everything a couple of times in or out and you will have it well sussed out.
We were also lucky enough that even though the complex was busy a high percentage of the guests were Spanish so we didn't see most of them until late afternoon, giving us the feeling that we had this amazing pool and beautiful setting to ourselves.
Honestly, be prepared, take our advice and don't let any of these bad reviews put you off. Another thing worth noting is there is no bureau de change at reception but as advised if you have a car then again this is not a problem.
We would most definitely 100% recommend and go back again ourselves.

We were looking for an apartment for three weeks stay in Marbella and that was our first visit to that area. Firstly, name of the hotel is a little bit misleading since it is located quite far from Marbella and you need a car or taxi to go there. It is actually located in the middle between Marbella and Estepona. It is also not very close to the beach. It is around 20-30 min walk from the hotel to the beach and a little bit more back. We stayed in the apartment with kithchen and bedroom. Generally all was a little bit small but balcony was nice. It was really noisy both from the neighbors and swimming pool not only during the day but also during the night. We spoke to the management but it did not help. There are two swimming pools at the hotel.

Location around was nice. We like the village of Benahavis very much but you need to drive there as well. There is Mercadona shop in 20 min walk.

We stayed here a week ago and found it to be a lovely place, the pools were clean and pleasurable to swim in. We were speaking to another German couple who were staying in the hotel part of this spot and they were not happy, apparently its not all owned by the hotel, I booked through an Irish company but found everything to be very nice..

I would go back here for sure.

The hotel was so poor we only stayed for two nights out of the eight we had booked through Booking.com. The full amount for eight nights was taken from my credit card. The hotel do not answer my emails and Booking.com say they can do nothing about it. Am now going through the credit card to get my money back. Do not trust this hotel, the manager has no integrity. It is awful.

Well where do I start! Normally I am fairly easy to please as long as the accommodation is clean, fairly well equipped and a half decent bed I believe you get what you pay for and review accordingly. Sadly I have hardly any good points for this place! Why it is called the royal suites I don't know we were given room 7101 as they obviously didn't like us the boiler whistled constantly until we got them to fix it on the 2nd after my husband told them what was wrong! Above there was industrial washing machines going morning till night. The bed was sooooo hard sleeping on concrete would have been better. No tea towels, no kettle, a hard uncomfortable sofa bed to sit on the list is endless! Why didn't we move rooms I hear you say well we asked and were showed another room more dinghy then the one we were staying in! So we put up and shut up! This place was virtually empty and now we know why! The 1st receptionist was totally unhelpful and rude and didn't help us at all. You have to pay for the safe €21 for the week, the WIFI is virtually non existent and they only have a couple of English channels on the Tv. Would we stay here again NO. I have been coming to This part of Spain for years and believe me for not a lot more money you can get something much better! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Stayed for five of the seven days we had booked. Sadly the apartments were a substitute for their sister apartments in Mijas which they said had closed for Winter, five days before we arrived, even though we had booked them three months earlier. There were NO facilities for the first two nights, cafe and restaurant were closed, no gym and the pools were freezing as we expected. {Our first choice apartments had indoor pool!} The apartment was very good as people have said, however, it is not enough to provide dishwasher, oven, washing machine, sink etc, if you dont provide simple things like oven gloves, dishwash or washing up liquid, or a wire mesh to do toast in the oven. Not even a bar of soap in bathrooms. Management were lukewarm to a complaint. Overall poor holiday provision!

Room Tip: Top floor rooms are best since many travellers don't know how to respect other peoples silence w...
