“A beautiful hotel”
Reviewed 7 October 2010

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of September. The service was first class, the room very comfortable and the inner courtyard and pool ideal for relaxing. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and hope to return to enjoy the much praised restaurant.

The best thing about this hotel (assuming you have a young child, and you never can get out to eat in peace!) is that you can dine in the courtyard, with toddler safely asleep in adjacent room (Observatory). It was so nice to be able to do this without worrying about safety of baby sitters etc. Food very good with a few extras thrown in.
Benahavis has great outdoor space for kids too and many other lovely eateries.
Thoroughly recommended

with its thematic room, Amanhavis had a courteous staff.... clean rooms, however we found it to be a lil pricey! foood was excellent but again it was expensive.. up in the mountains a very small pretty town you find an interesting place which has an arab influence, good for couples...

the staff was very helpful in every way! clean and good breakfast! however getting to benahavis was a lil tricky due to road works....

overall the experience was good, though we thought maybe we could have spent a lil lesss than we did at amanhavis

Well, sometimes you have to be curious to find the true treasures life (including vacation) has to offer!!!

Scrolling through the quaint village of Benehavis, a little mountain village filled with restaurants which, at least to us, all looked the same, we walked by the entrance of "Amanhavis Hotel & Restaurant" which looked oddly different. There wasn't much to see from the outside, and I really don't remember why we decided to take a closer look. But I do remember that we felt "right at home" the very moment we had entered the restaurant. Actually, one doesn't feel like sitting in "a restaurant" - it's more like sitting in your best friend's dining room, surrounded by personal items of the owner's family.

After a 5 course dinner which was a special treat (especially after 5 days of the standard spanish cuisine) we followed the owner's invitation to a tour of the hotel. Unique, amazing, dazzling ... you name it!! Each room / suite has a different lay-out and is decorated to a different theme. One room ( I believe it was called "Copernicus' Rooom" even has a ceiling window above the king size bed. Have you ever seen the stars of the Andalucian sky from your bed in the middle of the night ???? Well, if this is still one of your unfulfilled dreams ... then "Amanhavis" is a must!!

Although we already had a reservation at a different hotel for the remainder of our stay, we checked into the hotel the next day and spent three more days at "Amanhavis Hotel & Restaurant" .... and let ourselves be pampered by the personal attention of the owner and his friendly staff. They went out of their way to turn our stay into our second honeymoon. Or was it our first and only true honeymoon?

Last, but not least, if you are a Golfer, then you should let the owner know about it. He can arrange tee times on all the famous Golf Courses the Costa del Sol has to offer, including those normally closed to the Public .... at reduced rates.

Enjoy!!! G. Webster (Castle Donington, UK)

My lady and I always wanted to stay in a special hotel somewhere in Spain and after a lengthy search we found Hotel Amanhavis in Benahavis which said it also had a good restaurant. We obviously checked with Tripadvisor and found the vast majority having had a great time. So we booked on line for a 3 day short-stay and we were not disappointed. The hotel is nicely situated in the village and the unique stile impressed us instantly. We were warmly greeted by Mr Weber himself.. He answered all our questions regarding trips and visits to nearby places. We were given the “Christopher Columbus Berth” – a lovely, comfortable and spacious room the character and décor reminiscent to the name of the themed room. Of course Mr Weber made a reservation in his restaurant… what a treat - nobody should miss this when visiting this area. Not only the atmosphere of the restaurant but especially the food was outstanding and we dined there every evening during our stay. My lady and I will use our experience at this hotel to benchmark other places regarding atmosphere, service and food. Thank you so much. Mrs and Mr Johnston, Scotland

Turning to Tripadvisor for some guidance where to stay on the Costa del Sol, we found Hotel Amanhavis in Benahavis. We checked out the professional website and decided to book three nights. Upon arrival we were greeted by Mr. Weber the owner of Amanhavis. He checked us in a fantastic room, in our case "The Horse Thief's hide out" which is one of 9 individual decorated rooms.
And than the surprise of the trip. The Restaurant and the Food. Stunning would be an understatement, freshly cooked food turned into elegantly presented dishes , served to our outpost on the terrace with a chilled bottle of white. Just perfect. Truly "A Treasure in the Mountains". Thank you for such a memorable experience. Mr & Mrs Forsyth, Dublin, Ireland.

Awsome, we traveled through Andalucia, not only for the sun, but also for that different experience. When we found Amanhavis on the internet, we thought this might just be it. WELL, we were not disappointed, what a treat, service, food, rooms and setting very even better than their personal website. We ate several times at this beautiful court-yard setting, it was simply superb ! Creative, locally used products, and really delicious ! A restaurant like this in London, would have a waiting list of over 3 months, garantied.
Within the village you have many other restaurants, however non come even close to Amanhavis, in every single aspect. Highly recommanded for those travellers, who are not looking only for sun and beach, there are definitively pearls just around the corner from Marbella.
The rooms are all different, beautifully decorated representing the historic chapters of medieval Spain. Again, very unique and refined to the last detail.
Hopefully this little treasure of the Costa del Sol will not be overrun, because we want to come back as often as we can !
