“Top quality farm to table food”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

This was a great dining experience. It is not difficult to find, but is slightly a bit off the beaten path. We arrived a few minutes early so we could sit on the porch outside to enjoy the view. Bring a bottle of your favorite wine to enjoy.
The only negative I could say, and it is very slight, is that the service was a little awkward. We stood around for over five minutes before someone walked up to us to say they would seat us soon. Then we sat at our table for over ten minutes before someone brought us over the menus. Once dinner got going the service picked up. Our waitress explained the history of the farm and restaurant, and made sure we understood everything on the menu.
Onto the food, it was so fresh and excellent. We started with asparagus that had a poached egg on top. It was so different with pickled vegetables, delicious. Then on to ham and slaw and escarole with white beans. It was all delicious and the portion was really generous. I can't say enough about the food. It was really inventive with fresh and simple ingredients. Definitely worth a return visit.

“Wow.”
Reviewed 18 May 2014

After reading the reviews here, I knew we had to head to Cloudland for dinner on our Saturday night in Woodstock. The three course, prix fixe menu was incredible. The way that their menu perfectly demonstrates the farm-to-table concept is completely unique. The meal was excellent. The courses were inventive and well executed. The atmosphere of the farm was without equal. Despite the overcast evening, we arrived just before dark and were able to recognize the beauty of the surroundings. The dining room was lovely and rustic. Overall, it was an wonderful experience, and the next time we're in Woodstock, we'll make sure not to miss Cloudland.

“Delicious food!”

Nothing fancy here, but warm hospitality and truly amazing food. Everything fresh and very flavorful. The nigh we were there fresh ham with root vegetables was on offer along with homemade mustard to go with the ham. Generous portions. Really good.

“Delicious food in lovely surroundings!”
Reviewed 3 January 2014

Cloudland Farm is an actual working farm just a few miles out of Woodstock, VT. There is now a beautifully constructed dining room....rustic a-frame with exposed rafters, massive fireplace, and lots of windows to enjoy the view from the top of the hill.....that specializes in farm to table, and do they mean it!! Our dinner was a prix fix 3 course with a glass of wine for $45 per person...so reasonable. Fabulous Gilfeather soup (a cross between a beet and turnip I think), tenderloin with veggies, and poached apple tart for dessert. On the back of the daily menu is a complete list of all ingredients with the corresponding vendor....most impressive, absolutely enjoyable, and delicious. Casual so our jeans and sweaters were perfect. Even had a big barn to park in!! Such fun.

Jim, thanks for your positive review. We are so glad that you enjoyed your farm-to-table dining experience at Cloudland. The Gilfeathers in the soup were grown right here on the farm, and they were developed by John Gilfeather of VT. They are called a turnip, but some say they more closely resemble a rutabaga.

Hope you can join us again for some of Chef Nick's creative, seasonal cuisine.

“Terrific Night Out!”
Reviewed 31 December 2013 via mobile

We were treated to dinner at Couldland by our good friends, it was a treat! I was apprehensive about the predetermined menu because of my fussiness, however it does force you to try new foods. After sampling the beet soup, something I would never order, I was pleasantly surprised and loved it. I am also not someone who can enjoy steak so I was also treated to a fabulous risotto with mushrooms and squash. My only regret was it was dark out and it would have been nice to see the beautiful farm. I would definitely visit again !
