This hotel is a wonderful place to get away from it all. It is a charming, warm, comfortable environment with friendly owners and staff. It is the type of place that really feels like home. If the picturesque drive there doesn't melt the stress away, This comfortable, quaint Inn will absolutely do the trick. The restaurant at the Inn has wonderful dinner options and a quality breakfast. There is no cell phone reception in the area where the Inn is located, but if you must stay connected, they have free Wi-Fi and a phone in the lobby that can be used. In short, for peace and quiet, good food and an escape from the hustle and bustle of city living, it just doesn't get much better than this.

Great getaway to leave everything behind. No cell service at the hotel which makes it even better. Town of Woodstock is nearby and offers a variety of things to do. Hearty breakfast but doesn't change much day to day. Tavern is only open Thursday through Sunday. Good firewood restocked everyday in your room. Would definitely recommend to anyone and would absolutely return!

We stayed at the KVI 22 years ago for our honeymoon back when it was just a small privately owned inn. We had a great stay then and thought we'd come back for Thanksgiving. Over the years, the inn was sold to its current corporate owners who seem to have stepped it up a bit while still shying away from the full on impersonal resort feel. Afterall, this is an early 1800 house. The staff was amazing. We stayed in room 17, which I would heartily recommend as it has a fireplace and separate living are which made it much more comfortable than just a room. The meals were then and continue to be today, very very good. My only negative comment would be that the common areas leading to the rooms are really worn and could use a rehab. Beyond that, everything could not have been more perfect and we would come back again.

Room Tip: Choose an upgrade room rather than a classic one. Some may have possibly not yet been upgraded.

What makes this hotel special is not the quaint and thoughtful little extras that makes it different, but the staff, who really help to make you feel at home. Nothing 'over the top', just very helpful if you need it and ready for banter if you want it. Clean, homely, friendly, with a restaurant where we had one of the best meals of our 19 day trip to the USA.

We stayed 2 nights in Woodstock at the Kedron Valley Inn. We had heard about this wonderful historic hotel from friends who stay here often, and we were not disappointed. It is an authentic 1800's set of brick buildings which have been very nicely restored. The rooms are very clean and nicely appointed and the bathroom clearly had been completely renovated very recently. The Kedron is really a small hotel that fit our interest in experiencing "real" Vermont perfectly. It was wonderful to stay in this piece of historic Vermont rather than a small B&B or a large convention hotel. The service was efficient, personal and welcoming. There is also a very fine restaurant with a wonderful old Tavern area, and the food was excellent. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: We chose a deluxe room with a real fireplace.

My wife and I are from California on vacation to see the fall colors. She found the Kedron Valley Inn, and we've stayed there a couple separate years.
The facility has a main house, guest house and several log cabins in the back.
First time we visited was in one of the Log Cabins in the back. Nice, accommodations, not a Hyatt hotel but had all the comforts. Parking was almost directly in front of the room, like a simple road motel. TV, fire place some logs for burning and a nice heater for the cold nights. We take our little dogs (pugs) with us everywhere we go, so for an extra charge, they will accept pets.
The next time we stayed in the big house. Original architecture would not pass building codes today. Halls are very tight, barely room for a standard adult to get through. An NFL lineman would have to squeeze themselves through. Definite safety hazard if ever there were a building fire. BUT still, very cool in a nostalgic kind of way.
The hotel has a restaurant dining area. It serves breakfast by morning and fancy dinners by night. The fresh blueberry pancakes are terrific. In the evening, the pride themselves with professional chefs creating wonderful culinary dishes. Some are slightly traditional, others are a tad exotic (tempura maki sushi as an example). They have an extensive wine selection.
Being there is very relaxing. An old house, plenty of nice people making sure you're comfortable. As I was sitting at my dinner table next to the old window, I counted over a dozen coats of paint of different colors that were applied over the years. They say it was built in the late 1800s, and it looks it.
In the back there is a peaceful pond. You can gaze upon it, or if you're young at heart, go swimming. There is a small dock with a wood raft. Otherwise, just go for a stroll in the nearby woods. Wander back when you please.

For my first visit to Vermont I stayed at the Kedron Valley Inn. The room was really great. The downstairs had a ski-lodge feel and theme, and the upstairs was very chic and renovated. The service was fantastic, the breakfast (hot) and included in our stay. Its a little off the beaten path from downtown Woodstock, but definitely worth the 5 minute drive. I have stayed at many hotels, but never have I had such a large and updated bathroom. Full jacuzzi tub that I fit in (yes I took a bath) a shower with great pressure, and a double sink. I was very impressed with this room. The only flaw I could find (if it can be considered a flaw) is that there is absolutely no cell service. I actually liked to disconnect for the weekend, and the wifi works just fine.

Stay here.
