The Charleston House

This is an Inn with a period feel in easy walking distance of the shops and restaurants in Woodstock. Our room was large and comfortable with a four poster bed. Although we were at the front of the property, we didn't have any issues with noise from the road.
We've never previously stayed at a hotel or B&B where none of the rooms had locks. It was a bit unsettling at first but everything was fine!
The breakfasts were gigantic - beautifully cooked and presented but too much for everyone around the table at our 8:30 sitting (the other sitting was at 9:30). The dining room and table were very attractive and it was good to have the opportunity to talk to other guests.

Arrived here for 1 night to be told there was a free upgrade available for us! On seeing the room, Summer Kitchen, we decided to stay 2 nights! Lovely B&B, spotlessly clean & beautifully furnished. We had both a fireplace and jacuzzi bath. There is parking at the B&B and free wi-fi.
Breakfast is served at a table with other guests which was very interesting. The breakfast was delicious and different on both mornings. We had no special food requirements but Willa did check this with us on arrival. It is only a few minutes walk to Woodstock and its shops & restuarants. The owners were always available to help guests and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We very rarely never stay in bed and breakfasts mainly due to my diet restrictions. We originally had reserved an apartment in Woodstock, but at the last minute the boiler went out. They owners of the apartment highly recommended The Charleston Inn so we decided to give it a try. The rooms were very well done and the owners were really gracious hosts. When I explained what I could and could not eat she said it was not a problem and the next morning we were treated to a great breakfast. Willma and Dixi were also very interesting people to talk to and I really felt that I was visiting with friends rather than renting a room from someone. The BB is also located in the heart of Woodstock so you can walk to restaurants and shops. Would highly recommend The Charleston House.

The Charleston House was located close the main section of town and was easy to walk to. The hosts were great and breakfast was the best on our New England trip. The house itself is old but has great charm. Woodstock is a great Vermont town and is a must see. The only problem is that the beds are very hard. So if that is a problem you should look elsewhere.

We stayed there last year. The room we took was spacious, with plenty of interesting details, decor telling both the care the owners take of their guests and the history behind them. It was a memorable stay. We enjoyed meeting the owners, the breakfast and the whole "old style" Vermont experience. Unfortunately this year only chains hotel had vacancy... Conclusion: reserve in advance!

Just got back from our 3rd trip to Woodstock and the Charleston Inn. Same as always, it was great. Clean, comfy and breakfasts to die for. Walked to downtown each night, fantastic sights within easy driving distance and extra clean rooms. Stayed at the Charleston 2006 ,2009 and 2012. Will be back 2015 if Dixie and Willa are still there.

We spent one night at the Charleston House and couldn't have been more pleased! Everything is beautifully done. The house itself is lovely with alot of period detail and furniture. We enjoyed sleeping in a canopied four post Charleston rice bed! The breakfast was wonderful and cooked to order. The hosts are friendly and are happy to chat about the local area. The house is located right in the village. No need to drive anywhere and search for parking! I didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back!
