My husband and I celebrated our 5th anniversary at the Charleston House. The Inn is beautifully and tastefully decorated. We stayed in the Summer Kitchen at the back of the Inn. The room was very attractive with a four poster bed, wingback chairs in front of the fireplace, nice antiques, and was very clean. The bathroom had large fluffy towels, which we greatly appreciated. We enjoyed our after dinner bubbly on the rockers on their porch.

Innkeepers, Dixi and Willa were both charming and accommodating and went out of their way to provide us with whatever we might need without being intrusive.

The inn is located just a short walk to the center of Woodstock (about one long block), so we were able to walk off our dinners and go back later for ice cream.

Breakfast in the morning was delicious and elegantly prepared. None of us stopped talking. We really enjoyed conversation with our innkeepers and other guest.

We agreed that the Charleston receives high marks for every category important to us: Comfortable, convenient, clean, quiet, nice amenities, delicious food, and accomodating hosts. We look forward to our return.

My husband and i spent our 39th anniversary in the charming B&B. It was slow that weekend so we were asked if we would like to upgrade for the same price to a downstairs room with a fireplace. The rooms were warm and welcoming and the beds were comfy and elegant with their four posters. The towels, sheets, pillow cases, oh so soft and smelled so wonderful. Our hosts, Willa and Dixie, were so attentive at breakfast and the table setting made us feel pampered and special. They had some wonderful suggestions on some lovely places to dine. The inn is located right in the center of town within walking distance of almost everything. It was a weekend that will not soon be forgotten.

We were originally going to another B&B but they were full so we liked the look of the Charleston from the outside and the inside was even better.

We had a huge room with a four poster bed and great linen. The room also had a fireplace and two winged back chairs, not to mention other peices of antique furniture. the bathroom was large with a jacquzzi bath big enough for two!

The hosts were really freindly and they served up a great breakfast.

10/10 we can't fault the Charleston House - lucky for us the other place was full

We had originally planned on staying at a B & B just outside of Woodstock. When we drove into town, however, we noticed the Charleston B & B and decided to look at the rooms. Are we gald we did. The place was wonderful. The rooms were clean and very nicely appointed and the breakfast was 5 star. Also, the location can not be beat. It is a two minute walk to the center of town. We also looked at the Wodstock Inn and I must say the rooms were not as nice and far more expensive. Both my wife and I are rather critical when it comes to lodging and we have nothing but praise for the Charleston B & B.

We stayed a couple of nights during a tour of New England in the fall. What we found was a charming hotel, well run by its owners. Breakfast was great, not your eat-as-much-as-you-like but enough for us, and it was beautifully presented. Two sittings and everyone sits around one large table. The food is personally prepared and served by the owners. If you have special food needs, just tell them in advance.

Although on the busy main street (and what a beautiful town) it is quiet. Here you will find the meaning of the old English expression of 'climbing into bed'.

Very curious, this is a very small town of some 2000-3000 people yet, we as Israelis, found an orthodox Jewish synagogue.

My husband and I try to get away for a couple's weekend once a year. For the last two years we've spent our time at the Charleston House in Woodstock, VT. "Our" room, MT Tom, is spacious, cozy and impeccably clean There is a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, a queen sized bed and Wavely fabrics and wallpaper. The hosts, Dixie and Willa are charming, and the candelight gourmet breakfast is wonderful. The Inn is just at the edge of the heart of town, and certainly walking distance. We loved visiting Simon Pearce, Billings Farm, and climbing Mt Tom. Dinner at the "Pub" at the Woodstock Inn is also a favorite, as you can order from the menu of the more formal dining room, but enjoy the clubby library feel of the pub, which often has live (jazz) music. We'd be staying again this November, but I waited too long to reserve a room, and it's booked for our favorite weekend!

We had a family reunion last spring at the Charleston House, and had a wonderful time. The proprietors were warm and gracious, and the promised cat from the website made an appearance. The rooms were comfortably and luxuriously furnished, and the home-made breakfasts were great. The discounted spring prices made it a bargain for a weekend getaway.
