This was a trip to the little two person villa just be the entrance to the land.
It was actually a few years before 2010, but I doubt much has changed since then.
The best memories were the quiet and watching the birds soaring over the cliffs at the top of the mountain, and a fantastic adventure travelling around the National Park.
Wonderful private swimming pool screened so we could swim naked.
We went in mid September, after the schools were back, and so it was quiet.
This was our first introduction to rural Spain and it made a deep impression - can't wait to get back, although this year doing a "Rick Stein" in a camper.
Good memories from really making the effort and getting involved with the locals in the towns.
Not such good memories of the lumpiest and most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept it - something which I expect has bene fixed a long time ago. The dirt road was fun.
We didn't make much use of the shared sport facilities, but we were only there for a week.

We arrived at this beautiful location on a Sunday evening and proceeded to establish that there is nothing open in El Gastor, the nearest village to the property. make sure you take provisions if you do the same. The villa itself was lovely and had everything you could want but what makes this place is the seclusion and view. It is simply stunning! However, you must want seclusion and peace and quiet as there is nothing to do nearby. As mentioned, El Gastor, the nearest village is about a 10/15 min drive down a dirt track (and I mean a dirt track - it's a bumpy ride!!). It is typically Spanish but there really is nowhere to eat in the evening. I had found 3 places advertised before we went but we only found 1 of them open during the time we were there and the food was very very average. We ended up going into Ronda 3 times. Now Ronda is truly wonderful. Dramatic scenery and sleepy personality with lots to do. The food was good (not amazing but perfectly fine) but there were so many places that had wonderful views that is what made it. In the larger towns like Ronda (Grazamala and Zahara were also wonderful) we found locals really friendly and not at all phased that our Spanish is rusty (we did try!) . However in El Gastor no effort was made to try and help us as we tried to explain what we wanted. A shame really. Had a lovely week but 1 week was enough for us.

The small groups of accommodation on this estate is also known ( and sold via Thomsons / Simply Travel ) as le Paradis and El Paraiso Escondido ( where we stayed ). It is 3 miles up a dirt track from the village. The road is ok but you need to be a confident driver. This isolation provides wonderful views and peace. There are 4 1 bedroom / studio casitas ( 4 poster bed in the living area) at El Paraiso sharing a decent sized pool. ( El Paradis has 6 or 7 units lower down the hill , with a bedroom alcove) The houses are not luxurious but very comfortable, well equipped and clean. My only criticism would be that there needs to be more sun shades provided around the pool.
It is a great location for touring the area , Ronda, Cadiz , Jerez , the National park , the white villages , Seville or for just relaxing.
