Owner description: This extraordinary zoo, one of the oldest in the U.S., underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in the 1980s and is still expanding. Its landscaping replicates the natural habitats of the numerous animals, some of which are endangered species. Four panda bears from China delight the crowds, and groups of gorillas separated by moats do their own share of entertaining.

“Great zoo visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2014

The abundance of shade made this trip to the zoo much more enjoyable as the temps were in the low 90s. The enclosures provided ample areas for observation of the animals at a relatively close distance. My wife especially enjoyed the opportunity to feed the giraffes .. for a small fee of course.

“loved the pandas”

Not a very big Zoo, but still entertaining enough. I suggest to come early (when the Zoo opens) to avoid big crowds. A few animals were not in their exhibit area. We didn't eat lunch here.

“Well done Atlanta Zoo”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2014

Panda exhibit was great. The variety and selections of animals to view was great. I was surprised at how small the elephant enclosure was, but the rest of the animals, especially the gorilla's seemed to have lots of room to run and play.

I went recently with my grown children and grandkids. The zoo is a million times better than it used to be! We enjoyed seeing all the anilmals and the grandkids enjoyed the little water area, they loved getting wet!

“Awesome! We loved it.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2014

We have 2 and 3 year old boys. They absolutely adored the playgrounds at the zoo. The favorite was riding the manatee and the rhino on the carousel. The train was pretty good as well. I was worried about it being too hot because we arrived at lunch time but the zoo was heavily shaded in most spots so we didn't have to worry about that at all.
