The museum was nice but it should have been cheaper to get in. Great place for young kids. We saw one of the movies with the kids. They enjoyed it.

We went visit with our 8 and 11 years old, so much to see and touch and experience. NatureQuest on the third floor allows little kids climbing up and down to let go some energy while parents can take a break. Not only the kids love it, adults enjoyed it thoroughly. We did the IMAX as well. Don't miss it if you visit Atlanta or the area.

The aquarium then the Fernbank... Sometimes not in that order! This place is just amazing. You get lost in it or you can if you let your self. I see so many people rush through and not "experience it" S-L-O-W down look through the exhibits people really tell your kids what they are looking at no its not just a bird its a wood pecker or a northern chickadee... this is a museum of NATURE enjoy it so next time you go for a walk out side your kid just might surprise you. Make sure you visit the cafe and try the Club and ask for the basil mayo OMG nom nom nom!!!

I had been meaning to go to one of Fernbank's Martini & Imax nights for years and when my alumni group met for one, I decided to try it. Traffic, as always in Atlanta, makes getting there in time a nightmare but parking was easy and the anticipation of a relaxing cocktail made the frustration almost worth it.
The music in the rotunda is quite loud, so my party took our drinks to the lovely patio outside. Very enjoyable on a warm summer evening! The trees and setting can make you forget the chaos of Ponce de Leon just a block away.
The cocktails were not the best. Mine was overwhelmingly sweet and not very alcoholic. Next time I'd just get a glass of wine. The appetizers that were served for our alumni group were ok but not readily replenished.
The IMAX movie about Lemurs, however, made up for everything---even the drive! Excellent movie and comfortable seats. They let you take your drink in, too, so you don't need to gulp at showtime. :-)

This was a great stop. However, appears to be very popular with school groups. The day we went there were 5 groups visiting. The crowd got worse as the day went on. There was a movie included with city pass & the boys loved it.
