Owner description: Recently restored to its original gilded look of the 1920s, the Fox Theatre features "Mighty Mo," a classic Moller organ with over 3,600 pipes. The lavish theatre currently hosts Broadway musicals, comedy shows and dance companies throughout the year.

I only saw the building from the outside, as there seem to be no tours. It is a building that reminds you of the "Roaring Twenties"...Worth seeing; not that far from Margaret Mitchell's House..

The Fox Theater justifiably describes itself as "Fabulous". It is a great venue. I have seen two Broadway shows there. The acoustics are terrific. Not a word was lost.

As it is described on its own web page, "It was a beautifully outlandish, opulent, and grandiose monument during the excesses of the pre-crash 1920s. The mosque-like structure was complete with minarets, onion domes, and an interior décor even more lavish than its façade."

But the curtain goes up ON TIME and late comers are not seated until there is an opportunity.

And out-of-towners be warned, Atlanta traffic can be ugly. Intending to be at the theater early in the hopes of hearing the theater's magnificent organ before the curtain.

"It is the giant Möller theatre organ “Mighty Mo” that is the Fox Theatre's crown jewel. This irreplaceable relic of movie theatre lore is a masterpiece of organ design, capable of producing sound as delicate as a dainty piccolo to wall-shuddering accompaniment for a battle scene."

But we got caught in heavy theater traffic on a Sunday evening. It took more than 30 minutes to advance half a mile! We stood in the back for about 10 minutes until we could be seated. No complaints. But be forewarned. Go early. Enjoy the theater, and perhaps the "Mighty Mo".

And for seating I recommend the balcony so that you can appreciate the fantastic ceiling. If you sit in the Orchestra, particularly in the back, do walk towards the stage during intermission to view the ceiling with its night scene and stars. Beautiful.

Finally, the Fox goes to great lengths to accommodate those with limited mobility. There were many seats held for purchase by the disabled.
