I visit theatre often and the Fox Theatre is my least favorite place to go. It's an older theatre that is well kept, but it was built before architects realized that staggered seats and more of an elevation made for better patron viewing. If you sit downstairs, you most likely will be seeing the show while shifting from left to right and trying to see around the head of the person in front of you. And, the downstairs at Fox Theatre is very deep, so take your binoculars, if you can get a view around that head in front of you.
All that said, it is a beautiful landmark in Atlanta and you should see the inside at least once, or take one of the many tours offered each month.
