“Charming old hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 October 2013

I stayed here for 2 nights for a conference. Was upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite which was more than I needed but very nice. This is an old hotel and in some places shows wear and tear but it is clean, very comfortable and affordable. The spacious rooms are a nice change from the very standard cookie cutter rooms one typically gets in a chain hotel. The lobby and meeting spaces are very nice and the meals we had in the hotel -- breakfast and lunch-- were very good. The only places where I thought there was room for improvement were: 1. the bathroom in my room didn't have great lighting, a lighted makeup mirror would be a really great addition and 2. the fitness center only had 3 treadmills. Other than that would highly recommend.

Because we are a historic property, we rely heavily on guests like you to help us determine the improvements we'll be making to the property during renovation periods. We have undergone a few so far, and will continue with improvements in various spaces in the future. That said, we are definitely always working to better the amenities and cultivate a more positive experience for our visitors. The suggested adjustments have been noted and added to our renovations.

I stayed there for while attending a conference (also in the hotel). I had a wonderful experience - friendly and helpful staff, early check-in (I arrived an hour earlier) and a complimentary upgrade. I'd definitely stay there again.

Stayed twice for conference attendance. Easy to get to by car or by MARTA flying in. The shower has very low water pressure. The one bedroom suite was very nice... comes with a full kitchen and a microwave! Close to Georgia Tech and Aquarium/CNN/Coke Museum. There is also Fox Theater right in front. Great for those concert goers.

Room Tip: Ask for high floor rooms. But the elevators (x2) run very slow during "rush hours"

The hotel itself is nice. It's old and there are things that show wear but it's comfortable. It's a FANTASTIC price for what is essentially an apartment (we had a 2 bedroom suite).

The gym is decent and the pool is nice. The doormen and reception staff are great.

My only complaint is that it was advertised as having a full kitchen which is why we selected to stay here. This is true; however, the kitchen is completely bare. No utensils, cups, pots, anything. If you want this service, it's an extra fee.

Additionally, the coffee maker is a 1 cup at a time deal and the cups they provide are not heavy enough to trigger the machine so your own cup is necessary.

One last thing, they are a bit slow with housekeeping. Several time (during a 4 day stay) we left in the morning, returned in the afternoon and the room had not yet been cleaned. Not the end of the world but we did end up having someone cleaning around us while we were in the room.

Room Tip: Elevators can be a bit slow and crowed but the view from the higher floors is nice.

Beautiful one bedroom corner suite. Excellent view of the city. Restaurant was top notch. Location is great for shows, restaurants, etc. Looking forward to returning next year to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary.

Stayed at the hotel in August for a business meeting. It was a nice experience - good food and nice big room. Concierge was very helpful with recommendations and also drove us to the Botanical gardens.
I am staying at the hotel again now. When I checked in at around 2:30 concierge was not there. It turned out he was gone at 1pm because he took VIP client somewhere. So there was nobody to answer questions.
My room is even more spacious this time-with 2bedrooms that I don't need- but there is a dust on a bathroom shelf. I can write my initials! Did they let housekeeping staff go home early as well?

First stay was in 1967 as a student. Tired & worn at the time, but with a lot of history. Today a modern hotel with outstanding service & spacious rooms, including multi-bedroom suites. Across the street from The Fox Theater & in the heart of urban action.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor with a view south on Peachtree.
