What a pleasant surprise. My husband and I were on a road trip and spent one night in this hotel. We arrived in the evening and stayed just one night. When we pulled up front with our car, the valet was professional and welcoming. We chose to self park in their garage which offered in and out privileges. Checking in was easy and the man at the desk was also professional and welcoming. Our room was on the 17th floor and had an amazing view through the floor to ceiling windows. Our suite had an enormous living room, large bedroom with two walk-in closets, the bathroom had been updated with tile shower and glass door (nice, but not artfully done) There was a full size refrigerator in a small alcove just off the foyer. And there was this additional room off the living room that was set up for celebrities who had their hair, makeup and wardrobe stylist do their work. FAB!

Overall a really great stay. Very good value for the money. I would stay again.

Room Tip: Our living room had sliding glass doors that lead to a small juilete balcony that was too small to sit on, but it was nice to open the glass door and let in the fresh air. You can always ask if a room like this is available.

Granted this hotel is not perfect, but it DOES provide a viable alternative to the impersonal chain hotels in Atlanta. Our three night stay had many pros and cons:

PROS: Ideal mid-town location, across the street from the Fox Theater and offering easy access to MARTA. Our king-size suite was very comfortable, the mattress firm, linens clean and fresh, huge well-stocked bathroom and roomy living/kitchen area. This is a historic hotel with a modern 12 floor atrium lobby and updated rooms.

CONS: There is major construction going on across the street and crews start their jack hammers and pounding quite early: 7:30 AM, even on Saturday! The windows, while double-glazed, are not adequate to filter out the high noise level coming from the construction site. You will be charged an arm and a leg to park, have breakfast, room service and whatever other add-on's you may need. Beware!

Overall, I WOULD stay here again but would request a room as far away as possible from the construction. A room overlooking Peachtree Street might offer the best alternative as the construction is along one of the side streets.

We decided to stay at this hotel because our Atlanta friends recommended it. We are first time visitors to Atlanta and booked a two bedroom suite with kitchen for three nights. Our suite was clean, but the decor was from the 50's . A full very large kitchen with a tiny one cup coffee machine and no crockery, glasses, utensils, knives, forks and spoons or paper goods of any kind was at our disposal. We were supposed to pay an additional 25 $ to receive any necessities listed above! We brought our own.
We noticed that our suite seemed to have no heat by the time evening rolled around. After asking housekeeping to check out the heat, the attendant arrived with two electric space heaters without further comment.
They were insufficient. Our rooms were 60 degrees despite our having the electric heaters plugged in . Next day we asked for another room and were moved. The new identical room had heat, but one of the windows in one of the bedrooms would not close properly. Two attendants came to tape it up.
Fortunately the night temperature during our second night was not as cold. So we were okay. We were not expecting any rain so we were good until we would leave.
The staff promise to make some adjustment to our bill.
We have come to the conclusion that this attractive 1930 building is in much need of maintenance.

My stay at the Georgian Terrace was wonderful! We arranged to stay at the hotel because of it's location to the Fox Theatre. It's very convenient to be able to walk across the street to your room after a concert. The only downside was that the concert that night was cancelled and rescheduled to a different date. Luckily, the Georgian Terrace has two restaurants onsite.

We reserved a 3-BR suite for the five of us. The staff, valet, concierge, and housekeeping were absolutely wonderful! They all wore stickers with the birthday message, and even stood in the lobby with a large sign when our birthday girl arrived!! She was speechless - we were all overwhelmed with how gracious and accommodating everyone was. In our 3 night stay, I can honestly say there was only one "blip" and that was taken care of immediately. All three bedrooms were very comfortable and we were fortunate to have a suite with a direct view of The Fox Theater. This memory is one we will all cherish forever!

Room Tip: Be sure to request kitchen ware if you plan to cook, etc. The only coffee makers are the one-cup-at-a-time type. We bought a 12-cup coffee maker since there were 5 of us!
