Prior to arrival I was concerned with the negative reviews I had read, but our experience was all positive during our 3 night stay. We booked the breakfast and wi-fi internet package for $20 more per night and it turned out to be a great deal. The breakfast buffet was great, it included made to order omelette, delicious grits, fresh fruits, French Toast, along with other items. Breakfast is available until 11:00 am and it is not crowded at all. Thoroughly enjoyed the fresh breakfast. The hotel is very clean, comfortable and has a great location. The lobby construction is limited to the gift shop area and was not an issue for us. We found the king size bed very comfortable. The room was also very clean and smelled fresh. The furnishing is showing wear & tear, but it was not significant. Although the bathroom is small, it has a great shower head and the towels are large and very soft. The location of the hotel is fantastic. We took the MARTA from and to airport. The Peachtree Center stop is only a block and a half away. The hotel is within walking distance to Centennial Park, Georgia Aquarium, CNN, Phillips Arena and many restaurants. The staff of the hotel are very friendly and professional. We had a very good stay and definitely recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: Book the breakfast package rate.

Stay was good. staff was pleasant (except for the bartender - see below). Everything was in order. Mediocre bar/lobby area for business gatherings; bar closes early for travelers; surly bartender was tossing guests out as soon as the clock struck 11 pm. Undergoing some construction in the lobby. Room was fine.

Front desk staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Restaurant service poor. No room service available - no breakfast available before 6:30. All beverage machines on every floor were broken - I was only told this after putting all of my change in trying to get a water....no signs, advising even though as soon as I called downstairs, they imediately advised. Why not just put a sign or offer guests a bottle of water at checkin?

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. I am sorry your experience was not up to expectations, but glad to hear the staff was accommodating. The in-room dining does not start until 11, but we do offer breakfast to go at our Grab n Go counter or menu through the restaurant. We have also replaced the vending company that serviced the machines and have not had any issues since. We would love for you to sign up for our HHonors program next time you are here, as some of the benefits do include bottle water at check in!

Construction on first floor caused dust on the 6th floor. Thermostat in room never worked during 4-day stay, but did get better when staff turned AC "on" and heat "off", as opposed to automatic HVAC. Booked four rooms and desk never got the correct name on on room.

The front Desk Staff were very friendly!! Great Customer Service.... The room was small but, was only there to sleep. The Hotel is in close proximirty and an easy walk to Centennial Park, Aquarium and the World Congress Convention Center.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in March 2014. The location was actually good, within walking distance of all major attractions. However, the hotel was not up to DoubleTree's usual standards. Rooms were clean, but quite dated. We were very disappointed in the cost of a meal at the hotel. Breakfast was available at the restaurant for $19, which even the guy at the reception admitted being too expensive for what was offered.
Also, parking definitely costs too much: $30/night, even more than what charged by more expensive hotels in the area. I strongly suggest that you just park your car one block away, in the private parking lot at Cone Street & Spring Street, near the Holiday Inn Hotel: the rates are much cheaper ($5 for 10 hours) and your car will be safe, since the parking is just in front of the Holiday Inn, which pays for private security guards during the night.
Staff was very polite and friendly, though. And chocolate biscuits were very good! :)
All in all, we had a good experience, but probably would not stay at this hotel again: there are better hotels in the area for the price.

Thank you for sharing your recent experience with us. We understand the limited parking with in the Downtown area and the rates and unfortunately we are a valet only property. Our valet staff is trained and has materials to provide guests with information on other parking lots within the downtown area as an alternative. Our restaurant offers a full al a carte menu as well as our new grab n go breakfast station as alternatives to the full breakfast buffet, that may be a better option for your next visit. We are currently on the final phase of our public space renovation with plans to go into the rooms for updated look later this year!
We hope to see you again on your next visit to Atlanta.

Yes the hotel is still undergoing renovation, but for me I didn't really notice until I started looking for it. It's a lot of work to change a Marriott into a Doubletree! All of the staff were exceptional, and went out of their way to make sure our stay was as wonderful as possible. One of the managers, April, greeted us at breakfast, engaging our entire family in a conversation. She truly has am interest in her customers and customer service, it totally shows. As far as renovations go, we stayed on an upper floor, in which the renovations are complete. It was fabulous. They are still in the process of finishing lower floors, but I am positive they will try to put everyone in the renovated rooms if at all possible. And it never hurts to ask. Everyone was amazing, great stay, and will be back for sure!
